1. Welcome! - how's that twat Malcolm? - still tuning his moped?
2. Have you connected too low a load and blown the power section?
3. I'm sure there's some reflectoporn in her eyes, but my photo program can't quite enhance it that well!
4. As said, it's imperative to pick up and play the bass. I'm sure that any of the pro bass builders on here will tell you it's easy to make a badly made expensive bass and also make a well made cheap bass .
5. I voted B, but would go for C with a little tweaking, What wood are you going to make the bass out of? - Lignumvitae or Afican Ebony would be very very cool!
6. Looks like it may have been sold/traded to a dealer? - Is/was your SU at work anywhere near Lincoln?
7. When you turn the tone knob, is it a gradual increase/decrease, from '1 to 10', or does it all happen between '7 to 10' ? On the attached diagram, the earth linking the 3 pots is the control plate itself. If the 'cheapo' pre-wired plate has a bad earth between the pots and the control plate, then the earth won't 'earth' properly, which will cause problems Does the link from the bridge pot to the tone pot run between the end tab of the bridge pot to the middle tab of the tone pot Post a picture of your finished work so we can see what's going on
8. You've obviously cross polarised the infrangic cock-truss array with the starboard phase cancelling inter-rossitor, resulting in an inverse dielectric transferance of the the dilithium crystal structure which should be 2(5)6 dilithium 2(i)l diallosilicate 1:9:1 heptoferranide. When finished and wired properly, it should look like this:
9. Hi and welcome Ebay has good and bad points. Have a trawl through the basses for sale forum here and IIRC you'll find similar basses have been sold on here, so It'll give you a few prices to think about. Pictures and your location will help a lot too!
10. Hi As Ben says, put them up on the effects sale forum - there are always people with acute EAS here - (Effects Acquisition Syndrome)
11. 12.
Soon to be joined by a Sadowsky Modern 5/24. This is 2006 Celinder J-update 4. It's just over 8lbs and is built for slapping, but sounds great with my primary techniques - fingerstyle/tapping. It's a special bass to me because my whole family and all my friends clubbed together and bought it for me for my 21st birthday.
Oooopps - I just did a sex wee!
13. As it's in a plain brown box, it's got to be one of those inflatable basses with an extra strong suction pump and lubricator
14.
I want some Lemon oil for my fingerboard.
You probably know this, but don't use it on any maple fingerboards
15. http://www.dolphinmusic.co.uk/shop/flypage/product_id/14228 Put a set of LaBella Deep Talkin' flats on it, do a simple home set up and you're there.
16. I try and do an hour a day - on a good day, when I have the house to myself I'll practice for 1 1/2 to 2 hours, on a bad day 30 - 45mins, although I don't really get into it for at least 20mins.
17.
Pics/dimensions etc to follow. I can't find the original link!
I'm missing this cab! I think light, loud and articulate sums it up. Here's the original post (which got lost inside the search engine when the amps/cab/effects for sale forum got split the other week) http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=31244&hl=

Hi

Bonjour et bienvenue ! Mon aéroglisseur éclate avec le plaisir à votre présence ici!
19. Are Strings & Things still Ernie Ball distributors? - They don't list themselves as so anymore.
20. Going from warm to a little more zingy - DR Sunbeams, DR Fatbeams, DR Hibeams - I've used them all and they're superb.
21. This one seems a bit high to me? - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...A:IT&ih=016 A very nice amp, but the last 2 have gone for well under £1k.
22. I've missed so many fantastic gigs as the years have rolled by - but I was at the Marquee club in 1980 when they recorded one of the best live albums ever made. R&B at it's very best.
23. I know I'm just learning this bass line - but it ain't nothing like this from this 'expert' - unless I'm missing something?
24.
my spare Jazz bass carries a set of original Fender strings for which I still have the packet marked £8/15 shillings -a hell of a price to pay back then - anyone care to work out the amount that equates to in today's money?
Welcome to the forums! - I work it out at around £129.23 in today's money!
25. If I had that many pedals on a board I'd have to learn to tap dance whilst playing!
