1. I've used them a few times and never had a problem - usually a really fast service.
 2. To save anyone the sums, I'm guessing shipping will be around $150, making a total of $1450. £1 buys $1.48, so that's £979 plus 20% taxes/import duty = £1175 in your hands.
 3. It has to feel right in your hands. You have to really like playing it. The tone & sound can all be tweaked later. Remember, you'll play better with a really comfortable bass that feels "right" and costs £250 than a bass that doesn't feel "right" but has a tone to die for and costs £5000.
 4.
According to the book I have about these things (Restoring & Finishing Wood by Mick Allen - ISBN 0-7136-7657-4) you can use oxalic acid to try and bleach out stains.
So you could do it by boiling your bass in a vat of rhubarb? Deffo one for a professional luthiers advice. If doing it at home I'd have a go with hydrogen peroxide which imho would do the least damage to the wood.
 5. Same approach here - KISS. More knobs = more twiddling. But having said that I wonder how many owners have put their 2EQ Stingray through a 12 channel graphic
 6. IMHO this forum would have done a better job. As for people to interview, there are a few here who could talk about their GAS OCD and BBC could edit an agony column
 7.
Well Hamster you can be John Nettles. I prefer Nigel myself
I was thinking of the Professionals - I was in an episode of that. Check the credits for "man walking past the chipshop"
 8. I haven't played any Indie basses, but I've played a few of their guitars - they were pretty good I'll keep my eyes open for a bass to try.
 9.
I didn't realise we had so many silver-tongued cavaliers on here. It's like hanging out with John Nettles, Nigel Havers and that pouting prick from The Professionals.
Hey, I think I've just been paid a compliment?
 10. I have a Vintage P bass. The neck is a sort of P/J hybrid and it plays like butter. Easily as good as a MIM Fender P and miles better than my SX P bass.
 11.
I think I need the DI output on my Mark Bass LMII looked at. Any recommendations for places in London? Thanks in advance.
I presume you've looked at the sticky? - http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=198
 12.
Before this gets locked, I just want to know if the monk ran a kitten sanctuary. I'd definitely donate to that, as long as the kittens didn't have to sleep in traffic cones.
The monk was a kitten in a previous life. God killed him because jakebass once (allegedly) masturbated. Funny how this Karma sh*t all links up.
 13. Oh well, another well intention thread goes down the pan due to all the unrestrained hate that totally uneffected people seem to have. If there are any mods up this late, please lock this one as well.................... until the next one starts.....................
 14. Bought a nice little EBS pedal from yorick, top guy to deal with. Thank you!
 15. Both my Stingray and Sub punch through better than Nigel Benn
 16.
but you understand his point?
I do, but imho the point is built around a faulty premise. Let's not stray too far off topic shall we?
 17.
So let me get this straight. The over sensitive, prissy types in this forum got outraged over BBC's somewhat close to the mark posts, and effectively started a campaign to have him banned and succeeded.
I don't think the site admins are prone to being influenced by mob rule.

 20.
I was the Royal Marines youngest ever Troop Commander at 19 Bilbo.
I suppose that's the red beret you're wearing that you got in the Marines then
 21.
Currently I'm between basses. I've just sold my last one, and will hopefully be picking up my new one sometime soon. In the meantime I'm bassless Am I still allowed here?
Burn the witch!
