I'm using both these strings at the moment. I really like both of them but I think the Sunbeams will be the slightly better choice for what you're looking for.

Nobody mentioned a Lakland 55/01 - fantastic bass for the money and as versatile as you can get. Plays superb too.

Don't bother looking elsewhere - you've found it. You should be able to source a used but excellent condition 44/01 from somewhere like the for sale forum at talkbass.com. Even with shipping across the pond and duty paid, you'll come out with a very decent saving.

If you are interested in putting speakers in boxes, why not put cheaper speakers in a cab you have built yourself from a simple design that is custom made for the speakers? Having now experienced BFM design cabs first hand you can build your own cabs that will sound and perform significantly better than any glock for a fraction of the price. p.s. you can also ask alexclaber who posted above about his design cabs, - they sound pretty good too.
