1. If Mark King called himself "Thunderthumbs", then John Entwistle is surely "Thunderfingers"
2.
The Pirates in Leicester this Saturday (25th). My favourite band. Good old (Doctor Feelgood type) R n B played by blokes (except for the drummer) who are older than me! Anybody else like this kind of music? Mart.
Yes, I do! I'm going to see them on Friday 28th November at the Half Moon, Putney
3. Ian Parker & Band on 1st November in Herne Hill - http://www.myspace.com/ianparkermusic See you there Mr Funkmunky!! Anyone else fancy a pint?
4.
The 'vicar' is (surprise surprise) self appointed, and has a penchant for sports cars which are parked in the grounds of his palatial dwelling.
If you are the founder and originator of something, it's hardly a surprise if you're "self-appointed." I'd also like to see your referenced source for the "sports cars in his palatial dwelling" comment.
He got in trouble a few years ago for filming a promo video in which he wore sunglasses, a leather coat, and was brandishing a (replica?) MP5 machine gun.
In fact, it was part of a tongue-in-cheek "Matrix" style promotional video for a men's prayer meeting that was given the usual "Won't somebody think of the children" treatment by the media looking for a story.
5. Bought a Pandora PX4D from Keir - an excellent seller - many thanks

8. Yep - my car's worth less than my basses. I'm hoping to upgrade the car soon - might lead to a more expensive bass to restore the balance
9.
A majority of Christian Rock music is dull and predictable, it just serves as a basis to preach in a more accessible form to younger people.
But isn't it because that's the sort of music that makes up 99% of the top 40 singles? - dull & predictable. It's only that to the more esoteric ear - it's what a lot of young people like. If you play more esoteric music it makes it a less cultural form of worship/praise.
10. This Christian band ain't bad either - pity they're all such deluded fools
11. So it's a bit like this then? - Not a bad gig for a bassplayer if you can get it
12. I see it's been pulled by the seller. Cudos to him for including some of the messages he received about it (including mine)
13. I have the same on my Stingray - a crack through the neckplate, not just the chrome. There's no sign of any over-zealous tightening, so it might be a generic problem or maybe a batch of faulty plates. Let me know how you get on with getting a replacement plate with the same serial number on it

SOLD

I have a Vintage P bass and I'm really impressed with the standard bass. Easily better than the much vaunted SX range. With these mods, this is a complete steal. Have a free bump.
15. I listened to some online samples and thought it sounded pretty neat The bass demo is from 2.00m

recent ebay sales

It's amazing what people pay for secondhand stuff on ebay, when you can buy it for less brand new if you spend 5 minutes with a search engine.
17.
I just don't get to use clever delays anymore. Does anyone want this fantastic "do everything" delay box? Kills the DL-4 and the DD-20, IMO, to be the current top digital dog. £100 posted to the UK. In great condition, with a couple of barely-noticeable marks. Velcro on the back. With original box and stuff. Here's what it does: http://www.ehx.com/products/stereo-memory-man-with-hazarai
pm'd
18. Have you tried slowing it down with some of the free software like "Amazing Slowdowner" or "Transcribe"
19. He's selling a few things, including a bass that was posted on another thread where he states, "This is a new ebay account and i have over 400 positive feedback on my other Ebay business account." Then why make a new one?
20. Citroen C8 - in fact you could hold rehersals in the back
21. Here? - http://www.soundslive.co.uk/product~name~G...550~ID~8309.asp £699 and "in stock"
