1. I've long been considering the merits of a pair of ACME low B-2's They might fit the bill. I think Alex & CK have owned these. Hamster
2. I have a Line6 Lowdown110. It really is a fantastic little combo, wide range of tone, filled with helium for lightness, fits in ridiculously small spaces. I've only used it for practice so can't comment on its gig-worthiness. Hamster

new post issue

Somethings been eating your cookies I think.....
4. I like MM's but that one doesn't float my boat.
5.
It this yet another facet of the British Nanny State. We have been running bashes for several years without any rules or etiquette and without problems. Why do we have to start now? Most BCers are responsible and considerate people.
I think on the grounds of Health & Safety, you should be in charge of cutting up any 'unsafe' cables that people bring and offer to make up safer ones (for a small fee) on the spot Hamster
6. I started off with a Boss CS-3 (because I had one laying around) which you could set to give a very noticeable compression effect, but it's very noisy. I bought a BBE Opto Stomp which is miles cleaner but you can't set it to give a loads of compression - which isn't really what I want anyway. Hamster
7. Get an Aguilar db112 with a tweeter and put them in a vertical stack with the db112NT below Hamster
8. A tweeter is just a small kind of loudspeaker designed to reproduce higher frequencies. It's personal preference really as to what sound you want. Generally for a brighter sound you need tweeters, for a dub reggae sound you don't. A 12" bass driver won't be that good for anything above 5kHz. Hamster
9. No Picture = No Bass Before you start spanking your plank and make it all dirty with sweaty fingermarks get a picture up! Congrats BTW
10. Looks like the seller has pulled the listing, or sold it outside the auction. Hamster
11. Quick and dirty is how Bill suggests. Measure the DC resistance, which is around .7 of the real value, so 3 ohms for a 4 ohm speaker and 6 ohms for an 8 ohm speaker.
12.
You think he's good? I've been known to knock them dead!
As in necrophilia?
13.
Who the f*** is he?
He's a really really really famous experimental Jazz bassist
14.
Mint condition foot. Spa once owned by Phil Collins. Includes box. But no manual free. To a good home?
Please show picture of foot. What caused Phil to own the spa - what did it ever do to him?
15.
Maybe we should make it that you have to turn up looking like your avatar. I'm onto a winner there ( ), but I'd like to see you keep a small yellow bird on your head all day! EDIT: is it a duckling?
No, it's a Norwegian Blue - and it's nailed there so it doesn't fall off when I'm rocking out
16.
Hi, I'm training my voice, and I need a chromatic tuner with a mic input to sing into that will display the note I'm singing. Anyone suggest one?
Whose covers will you be singing - some early Venom & Bathory stuff, or more modern black metal? Hamster
17.
Sooo, MM & Ric followers can just put the proverbial boot in wherever and to whomever they feel like, right?
No, that's the second round - winners of that punch up play the winners of the first, then there's a play off for 3rd place. Shuker, Jaydee, Overwater, ACG, RIM etc and other custom build owners just stand back and disapprove a bit whilst nursing their Campari & sodas - but they're a funny lot................
18.
This sounds awesome... Although i will not have anything worth bringing myself. What should I expect from the day, i have no idea how these Bash's work?
Turn up with plenty of money to buy guitars, amps & effects from fellow forumites. Chat & chill with fellow forumites. Eat & drink with fellow forumites. Join in when we all play Rush's XYZ at the same time together. When boozed up enough, pick a side and join in the "Warwick.v.Fender" punch up at the end. Sorted

hi there

Hi Ben - Welcome! What part of the UK do you call home? If in the South-East, there's a bass-bash day soon, be good to see you. Cheers Hamster
20. Hi Tom - welcome to Basschat Enjoy the forums! Hamster
21.
Hmmm, I think I have a few of those knocking about somewhere...!
Tip 102. If publishing a book of bass tips, don't print off too many
22. This guy is very helpful - http://www.customchrome.co.uk/ Send him a template and he'll cut a copy out of metal. Don't know if he does anodising though, but I'm sure he'll know a man who can Hamster
23. IMHO, you're better off finding your ideal bass and then waiting to find an amp that gives you the tone you want. Otherwise you will have an excellent amp and then have to try to find a bass that sounds nice through it, albeit a bass that you don't really like but sounds good. Hamster
