1. Hi Doug Welcome! So you like prog rock? - just for you, - enjoy Hamster
2. The new neck doesn't look as though it has got a deep orange stain as the usual SX necks - or is it the light? Hamster
3. I've been boarding the loft in my new house for the last few days and had to re-work several sections because of cock-ups! I must therefore prostrate myself before your woodworking magnificence - good job! Hamster
4. Ummmmmm...... I reckon you might get £400-£450 for it on eBay. Give it a while and see what others think. Hamster
5. It's attached to earth, the back of the tone pot IIRC, but there's no reason why you can't attach it to the ground on your jack - all the earth points are linked. As for attaching it - IMHO soldering is the only way to go. You could try to secure it between the pot and foil backed scratchplate but that would be a real bodge job repair. Where in London are you? - there might very well be a fellow basschatter near you with a soldering iron. Apart from that, soldering is very easy - have a go! Hamster
6. Hello, and welcome to the forums You'll find a wealth of info and help here - enjoy! Hamster
7.
Lots of money = Peterson Strobostomp II Not lots of money = Korg DT10
+1, IMHO these are the best 2 pedal tuners. Hamster
8. The Way He Has Worded This Auction Seems To Ring A Bell? - Wasn't There A Post About Starting Every Word With A Capital On A Previous Suspected Scam Auction? Hamster
9.
DR Lo-Riders............
Any DR strings really, depending on what tone you're after. Hamster
10. To comply with effects lore you should put the comp first. However - bear in mind that with your bass, your other pedals, your amp, your speakers and your ears it might sound better in the middle of the chain, or it might sound better in an FX loop, or it might sound better near the end of your chain. No hard and fast rule - but if you try all this and can't hear a difference does it matter where it goes? If you can't hear the difference then put it first and then you'll get some reassuring nods from other bass players Hamster
11. Eh up & welcome! Nice to have you with us. Drop by the Double Bass/EUB forum to ask the guys what they recommend, and then stick a post in the wanted forum - good luck! Hamster
12. The seller doesn't seems dodgy - is he just selling what he believes it is? Think I'll PM him on ebay. Hamster
13. Tone is of course subjective, but the main arguments for me are sensitivity and weight which are empirical, cost which is cheaper and and the satisfaction of making something with your hands. The drawback is the availability, so I can't just turn up to a shop to plug and play to see if I like the tone. As for the cab stacking question, there are the stated reasons above. But bear in mind what you hear or perceive on stage is not what is heard at the front/back/side of the venue. Hamster
14. Mine was a brand new install when I bought the bass. IMHO the best way is to order direct from Audere where David Meadows will help you to decide exactly what you want/need. Hamster
15.
(slightly off subject).....is there somewhere where you can send your pickguard and get one made/copied exactly from that?
This place will do that for you - http://www.auroraproject.co.uk/web%20site%20first%20page.htm Hamster
16. The mint or black pearl don't really float my boat on this one, however............. Snakeskin? or Yellow Cream Pearl? or Cream Pearl? or Aged Pearl? You can buy the sheets and trim to shape Hamster
17. Have you tried this guy? - Ben Fleetcroft in Godalming http://fleetcroftguitars.com/. He's done a few things for me and is a really nice guy who doesn't charge the earth. Hamster
18. I'm on holiday on 30/31 August so can't make those. Sundays are out for me, so 6 or 13 Sept are the only ones I can make. No preference over the venue. Thanks for sorting out a meet Hamster
19.
Does anyone know how to do a Poll on this, so we can be uber-democratic and vote on it?
You can edit the original post and add a poll to it Hamster
20. In guitar pro, export the GP file as a wave file. Once saved in .wav format there are numerous programs on the www to convert .wav to .mp3 Hamster

22.
You’re so generous with the “10”s. I’m so reluctant to give anything a 10 because once you do that you cant go any higher so it’s like you’ve reached absolute and complete perfection that cannot be improved on...at all, no possible improvement can be made because it’s an impossibility that something can succeed top marks and complete perfection ….do you see what I’m getting at.
According to Spinal Tap, 11 is the new 10
