1. Surprised you've still got this at that price.
2. Outrageous, all three of my offers have been rejected!
3. It's quite amusing that the first and fifteenth strings are actually off of the fingerboard.
4. This Fodera Koa Monarch 6 Bolt-On is a unique and rare design. 6 strings, 33" scale length and 16.5mm bridge spacing make this the most compact 6-er Fodera build allowing the player to access all of the benefits of an extended-range instrument with maximum ease and comfort. Fast solo runs, deep pocket grooves, chording in the upper register; This bass handles it all and with authority. A mahogany body and ebony fingerboard give this bass a clear and well balanced tone with a bell-like upper register. I've photographed two small marks near the lower horn. Other than that, it's pretty much bang on. Weight according to my bathroom scales is 10.4 pounds. I'm based in Bournemouth, Dorset. No trades. Local pick up preferred but I would ship fully insured at the buyers expense. 5. Hello all, Anybody got or had a 4, 5 or 6 string Ken Smith Japanese Burner? I'd love to hear your opinion on them?
6. I'm a bassist looking for like minded bassists into experimental, ambient, minimalist, heavy, drone and modern-classical influences. I'm 37 and not bound by anyone being a certain age. I'm pretty open minded and it's more important you're into whatever we do. I've done quite a few events over the years and I regularly play live in London. Visit soundcloud.com/minuspilots and store.championversion.com/album/junkyard-transmissions-redux to get an indication of stuff I've done previously. And you can visit eatsleeprepeat.com to check out the releases I've played on. Respond and/or PM if this is of any interest - cheers all.
7. Any photos?
8. Total bargain. I wish this was rosewood.
9. Nice looking bass. It might be worth updating the title because this is not an American Standard model Jazz Bass though.
10. Having owned a New Standard myself, I don't doubt that this is a fine bass but I think it's very important to list things as accurately as possible.
11.
look in Fodera website, in standard model the truss-rod access point is positioned at the bottom of the fretboard, and on the head for custom models. I wait confirmation with Fodéra
Quick google of Fodera New Standard throws up these basses. As has been mentioned previously, it's a confusing naming used by Fodera. https://www.talkbass.com/threads/fodera-monarch-new-standard.1225044/ https://www.talkbass.com/threads/nbd-my-first-fodera.1202510/ https://www.talkbass.com/threads/fodera-new-monarch-standard.1200645/ https://youtu.be/jp9wZxbWWu0 https://reverb.com/uk/item/2409662-fodera-monarch-new-standard-late-90s-quilt-maple
12.
Is it really only 8" wide? What size are the speakers?
No, it's actually 11" wide. I stupidly used incorrect information published on the Bass Direct web site. The speakers are 4".
13.
I missed the bass I had in sight, so back to a resonable price given that I'm no longer in a hurry [s]£[/s]3150 / 3700 € but i really prefer a trade with a Ritter (4/5) or Wal (4/5)
I think Bass Club Paris may have mis-sold it to you with that description. I'd suggest you contact Fodera for information about this bass so you can hear it directly from them. It looks to be a New Standard model and while you can obviously ask for whatever amount of money you like, it might be difficult to sell at the price you'd like because this isn't a custom Fodera.
14. When I was after a J-style 4-string in 2013, I only wanted a US Standard Fender. I know there are people building better versions, super Jazzes, etc. and I also acknowledge that it doesn't really make sense but only a Fender would do for me. I tried out maybe 15 of them at various stores and pretty much all of them were decent enough but 1 of them was particularly good - which is obviously the one I bought. If it ever needed replacing, I'd do my best to hunt out another superb US Standard/Professional Fender Jazz... I guess I can almost certainly be called a fan boy!
15. This looks like a Fodera Monarch New Standard model? It's very similar anyway. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/280669-fodera-monarch-new-standard-4-strings-sold/
16. Welcome mate. I'm from Bournemouth too. You joining a band?
17. I took this in a part exchange - It's nice and light, very powerful for the size and generally sounds awesome. This amp is brand new. Phil Jones Bass Double Four BG-75 BK Bass Combo Amplifier.

Power Output: 70W RMS.
Speakers: 2 x PJB NeoPower Type C.
Controls: Level Selector, Volume, 3 band EQ, Aux Level.
Jacks: Input, Aux input, Headphone Out, DC-input.
Dimensions: 11" x 8" x 7" (W x D x H).
Net Weight: 8.8 lbs / 4 kg.
The Double Four is a single channel bass amplifier that has an auxiliary input for ipad/ipod, mp3 or drum machine. It features 3 band EQ that is perfectly tailored for bass guitar, headphone out jack and a line out for recording. It is ideal for all kinds of basses and can handle the open B string on a 5 string bass with ease. The cabinet may be as small as a shoe box but it is built to the same standards of all PJB cabinets, heavily braced internally and damped with acoustic damping materials to prevent cabinet coloration that can kill the true sound of your instrument. What you hear from the Double Four is the closest you can get to how your instrument actually sounds. The Double Four may just be a practice amp but it does not mean that it has to sound like a practice amp. The sound is huge for its size and you may find it hard to believe that all the sound from your bass is just coming out of such a tiny jewel box. ----- Located in Bournemouth, Dorset and I'm happy to ship within the UK. 19. I know this doesn't help but had this been rosewood, I'd have had it! Great price. There are 3 or 4 US Standards for sale at the moment and they're all maple!
20. Yes I'd move on too.
21. I'm a staunch Fender fan but this "upgrade" is poor in my opinion. Plus, why get rid of the tortoiseshell on the white and sunburst models?
22. Bump.
23. How much under £4k? Sounds a little expensive to me if it is anything over £3k. But it's all relative, subjective and personal of course.
24. Definitely not an American Jazz Bass.
