And I'd take the cab!

You do have to be careful with US Standard Jazz Basses - considering they should be more or less the same, the differences between them can be quite staggering. Having said that, the ones I've owned have been excellent.

This is a bargain!!!

These almost make me want to get a Ricky again. I wish the lip stuck out just a little bit more to rest the thumb on

Stretch. This is so worth it -

I love it. Beautiful.

These are amazing basses. £675 is a steal!

I'd echo a lot of this and specifically what Cairobill says - I joined a three-piece (bass, drums, guitar) and used a Fender Jazz Bass at the time. I bought a MM Stingray and it really transformed the overall sound of the band. I can't sum it up all that well in words but it was just more powerful and seemed to fill in gaps.

This thread is about Jazz Basses, right? Sorry for the P in the picture...

Love those. Can you post some more photos of your Jazz? -
Yeah it doesn't sound like that in my hands!!

Bought an Aguilar TH350 from Steve - exactly as described, perfect communication, super fast shipping - the perfect buying experience. Cheers mate.

You lucky lucky man! That's just about all the basses you'll ever need right there!
Now get saving for that fodera! ;-)

I quite fancy an olympic white Jazz now!
Don't fancy selling your SL112 do you? -

Is this why some places have Deluxe models comparatively cheap? You can get them for less than a US Standard.
I actually think I prefer US Standards -

Wow and wow again!!
Excuse my boldness, but was this a private buy or from a trader and was it Fodera type money?
It was a private buy and it wasn't Fodera money so now I don't have to continue saving -

Me too
What a beautiful pair... and unlike any of my basses, should you ever get bored of them they will be worth even more than when you bought them
Vintage Fenders essentially pay you to own them
Thanks a lot - the main reason I buy secondhand is to cut down on money lost. Mind you, I'm after an Aguilar SL 112 and I think I'm going to have to buy new now. Need it in the next six weeks!
You're right though, on these vintage basses, as long as they're looked after they should appreciate in value -

Nice looking bass personally I think you made the right choice
Thanks, I think you're right. This is real nice to play but I reckon a refret will have to happen at some point! -

What are the differences between them tonally?
I'd say the '72 is a bit brighter and louder to my ear but I'm definitely no expert. They both have a classic Jazz Bass honk.
