Ahhh, fair enough. I'm more of a Cov/B'ham person myself.

Anyone want to borrow a five string?
Starvolt replied to waynepunkdude's topic in General Discussion
Haha, that sounds like a good plan. Not played on a fiver before, so I suppose it would be intresting to see how it played. Only thing is, I'm not sure what the 'rents would think of me suddenly acquiring another bass... Ah well =] -
Depending which house i come from i may be able to meet you at the station and catch the tram and then the bus down with you
That'd be great! Don't know my way around Nottingham that amazigly, not been there much.

It is indeed. Any weekend bar the 14th/15th is good for me. Now I just need to figure out the train times and such. There's not a chance of anyone giving me a lift from the station is there? =P

Top bloke Bought a bridge off him, and providing the postie gets off his arse, it should be here today or tomorrow. =] Cheers, would definitely buy/sell to/from him again!

True, but not $1,395.00 nice. I mean you could buy a bass and a decent amp with that, and possibly some pedals with the change!

Well there we go! Does mean your left with a load of old screw holes though I suppose. Hmmm, this might be a job for the local Luthier.

I'm looking into getting some for my VMJ, as it's a bit neck divey at the mo, but I can't quite see whether or not the screws will line up with the existing holes. Anyone got any photo's and will they require a new set of holes? Cheers

Who, what, why and when? XD I wonder what else he has? OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, a 1972 Jazz Neck. For $1,395.00! I'll have that. And I quote: "I CAN SAY THAT THIS IS ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTYFULL JAZZ BASS ROSEWOOD NECKS I HAVE HAD HERE. ASIDE FOR THE BACK, IT IS VERY CLOSE TO BE NEAR MINT." Yes. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VINTAGE-FENDER-1972-...1742.m153.l1262 I can imagine he makes loads of money from his eBay shop. *Sarcasm off*

We're not a cover band, but we needed to fill some time, so we did a few things. The Dr Who jam. Think crunchy distorted bass and a lot of whammy/pitch shifting on guitar. Sounded quite good IMO. But song wise, would probably be Blood Sugar by Pendulum. Gets all our mates pumped up and it's good fun to play.

I mean, yes it's from the 70's and all, but the best part of 500 dollars for a pickguard? I think not.

Just 2. My first, a Squier Affinity Jazz, in Blue, though I've redone the scratch plate. And my Christmas pressie; a Squier VMJ. It's lovely.

I used to get something similar when I first began playing. I figured out that it was my fingers tapping on the pickup casing. I only got it on the E, as on the other strings my fingers hit the lower strings and not the pickup. When I did my work experience in a music shop they had a knackered old bass (and it was so bad, the tuners were masking taped together) that had a P-J set on it, but the J was a Humbucker, so I got that effect, but much worse, due to hitting the poles on the wider pickup. I think the best advice is to try to pluck the stings from a bit lower down, as this would make it less likely that your fingers will hit the Pickups. Hope this helps! Of course, I may be entirely wrong!

Record and gig with band, which will be good. Do Grade 4 bass exam, though I need to practice all the pieces a bit more.
-
Nor did I! Whoooops. Ah well, suppose it helps...

I know Alright, but couldn't put it into notation. Tab, yes, sheet music, no.
Bought the Muse CD/DVD of the 2007 Haarp tour in a 2 for £10 deal from HMV yesterday and amazing
Got the Limited Edition one. Only thing is, they left out 2 or 3 songs from the DVD. Latest CD I bought was the new Bloc Party album. Good tunes there
