Clean. Gig rig worth it? Any loops going on?

Couple of specifics and some general areas I need to investigate a bit more. 1. A Dunable. DE or USA I don’t mind which. 2. A passive DI for my board. Need to split clean/dirty and am confusing myself with options. 3. An octave synthy noisy fuzz - probably the Mandrake 4. A second Barefaced cab. 5. They will sell a lot of these at this price point to people who never had a QC and don’t understand the differences. I was keen but now I understand what they’ve taken out, it’s back to saving up for the big one.

The Atreides is an absolutely bonkers thing. I recommend doing a YouTube deep dive since there are some good-ish bass demos, but it's a completely OTT synth pedal with a ton of phase, some filter and some other bits. I was using it at the end of a song but it's morphed more of an in-between song noise pedal now, and it may come off the board entirely in favour of a more reliable and flexible synth pedal. It's a bit of a one-trick pony and it depends on whether you like the trick. It also is unpredictable when it comes to sustain and the tracking can sound a bit broken. I've managed to get something better by stacking the Octabass, 76 and chorus together The timer is an Amazon special! Put some velcro on the back and both me and lead singer can see how we're tracking to set-time which is very handy. It even turns red in the final 2 minutes.

Spent half the day cable managing and swapping out a few plates for 3M tape.

Hi fellow Sandbergers i need to change the strings on my used but new to me VM4. Tuning to drop C for doom project and the nut isn’t wide enough for 110 or 120 gauge. any filing tips lads so I don’t bork it? Not had to do this before.

It is SO MUCH FUN and the standalone fuzz is really excellent too. Highly recommend it if you can find one. Very usable and really looking forward to incorporating it into some tracks

Hey all, am a pedal noob so bear with me. Picked up an Octabass on Reverb and the footswitch wasn’t disengaging/engaging anything. Took out the board and it looks like this - it’s definitely missing the rest of the switch right??

Thank you. Genre wise it’s very riff heavy - a lot of doubled runs with guitar and only one guitarist so needs to occupy space during the solos. More modern end of the genre too I’d say but with vintage vibes - similar to Green Lung. to be clear I’ve always hated p-basses 😂 hence why I’m not sure what to look at. G&Ls maybe or lakland/sadowsky??

Thanks! Definitely keen on practicality at this point and as few points of failure as possible. never played a ricky. Definitely want something lightweight with a thinner neck and as close to a ‘wick-esque action. We have some fairly quick runs.

Hi guys I think this might be the place to get the help I need. i’ve joined a doom band after ten or so years off from gigging and loving it but need to do a full gear reset. I was in thrash and punk bands before and have been a lifelong Warwick/SWR/David Eden guy but it’s not quite the right aesthetic, innit. Need a new bass and rig - using an Orange terror but not mad about it with a borrowed P-bass and a Bass Butler for distortion. Thanks for any help you guys can give me. I’ve been eyeing some G&Ls, vintage Peaveys and barefaced cabs so far. No idea where to go next.

I've got an old Quad IV and had exactly the same problem. These heads are very sensitive to cabs, and if it doesn't like the cab it's hooked up to for whatever reason then it will start cutting out regularly. My EBS cab was on its last legs and the amp techs couldn't find a thing wrong with the head. So I'd get the cab looked at. There's something going on there that doesn't agree with the 'wick.
