Total Watts

1. Is this still available? I PMed but no response so far.
2. The Scott Whitley website says 7lbs or 3.2Kg. Interesting that yours is lighter. Apparently the mahogany version is also lighter, though no weight is given. I was hoping for under 3Kg, but I don't think that will happen with ash.
3. nice, how much does it weigh? do you know what the body wood is?
4. What does it weigh? I'm looking for something short scale and light weight. What exactly is the scale length?
5. This is a nice little guitar combo from the 80s. SS preamp (but with some decent tone to it), valve power amp. Really more like a 50w amp, but with a smaller OT and maybe slightly lower operating voltage, i'm sure it produces more than 30 watts! if there is interest I'll measure it. It has been extensively refurbed and modded by me. (I repair amps professionally, but this has been one of my personal amps for many years) New Sowter power transformer (totally over engineered!) upgraded caps in pre and power amp and upgraded opamps in preamp. choice of speakers from what I have, with appropriate price adjustment. I have classic lead G12H80, and vintage G1280 from the early 80s (I think) I may have other speakers available. I have disabled the reverb, but it could be reinstated. If you want reverb we'd have to see if the reverb tank still works. Pics coming when I get time, or on request. This is just a feeler really, but ther's plenty more info available if anyone is interested. would trade for a short scale danelectro or hofner club style bass with cash either way as appropriate.
6. loads of wierd noises, qtron like autowah combined with nice valve distortion or either separately. enevelope filter / valve distortion http://www.ehx.com/p...cts/tube-zipper consider trade for nice 4 string bass pickups eg bartolini, or short scale bass neck, or part trade for short scale danelectro or hofner club type bass.
7. Celestion Vintage 30 blown , crease to cone, good chassis and magnet for recone project. celestion G12T75 - loose connection where wire enters cone, can be made to make sound by pressing on it just right from the back of the cone, someone might be able to fix it, or recone. free for collection or will ship at your expense. collection from near durham.
8. Ths is really cool. I love the cutout pickguard. Is this the hollow construction with "masonite" top and back like other danelectros? I'm very tempted, but I don't like the red color much... how does the tone compare to a longhorn? is it chinese or korean made? or something else?
9. So, Philw do you have a fretless wenge Wal? or used to?
10. Provisionally sold, pending payment, and 3 more people in the queue if it falls through. Thanks for all the interest!
11.
Lovely Wal Mark...whereabouts are you ?
ah yes I should have said. I'm near Durham, UK. If anyone want to come here to try it that's fine. I'm not looking to trade, I'm only selling because I need the cash, unfortunately.
12. I'm very reluctantly letting go of the wal bass I've had for 20 years. It is a mid 80's 4 string, and started off as a fretless, but has been fretted. The fretwire used is slightly narrower than that used by Wal, but I've had no problems with the frets. It has wenge facings. From memory I think it was made in 1986, but i'm not 100% sure. It has an ebony fretboard, due to being originally fretless. The electronics were serviced by Pete in 2004, and I really haven't played it much since, I think it's time it went to someone who will play it more. There's some wear to the finish, but everything works as it should. It is currently in a generic rectangular plastic case, which I will include. enquiries to [email protected] EDIT, i uploaded the pics here, and then discovered that the forum resizes them quite small. You can see the larger versions here: http://greenmanhumming.com/wal/ EDIT 2: I just looked at the other wal bass for sale here, it is the same model, but with walnut facings rather than wenge. Even freakier his is W2762 and mine is W2672, just a few months earlier, and with almost the same serial number, just 2 transposed digits! When I next have the camera out I'll take and post a pic of the inside of the electronics cover plate, i'd forgotten there was info there. thanks Mark
