if you can wear a old school 'safari' hat and not look ridiculous you make one of these look good, personally i'm not a fan!

i picked up a diamond Jazz bass for £200 probably the best jazz I've ever played, hipshot hardware (or very good copies) EMG pups and a great preamp. finish and build quality was amazing. but unfortunately i don't really like jazzes so i got rid. really want to try a diamond P bass or Model T. the new model T basses look amazing in my opinion.

i want another 2 1x12s so i can use both channels on my Shuttlemax 12.2 at 4ohm! not that i'd ever need that much power but i can dream haha!
-
I have 2 1x12 focus cabs and i love them, light enough to carry 1 handed and i think they sound great, prefer them over all other cabs I've used (which include trace, TC, Orange, barefaced, ampeg) and they only cost me £100 each!

my college bought a left handed HB Jazz that was one of the first i knew of with the Rosewell PUPS, they seem pretty comparable to the Wilksinson i have in the bridge of a PJ bass. also looking forward to seeing the red version its been teasing on the Thomann website for sometime now! along with a LH PB50.

I've got a Peavey Microbass 20 and i love that tiny thing!

I've been using a Korg Pitchclip for ages now, small profile does 4 string fine (not tried on 5) its been dropped, bashed about and even sat on and still working fine. https://www.gear4music.com/Guitar-and-Bass/Korg-Pitchclip-Clip-on-Tuner/FYN?origin=product-ads&utm_source=bing&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=PLA Shop - Korg&utm_term=4584207573605927&utm_content=All Products - Korg

i remember Thomann selling these for an absolute steal a couple of years back, it think the black one was going for about £159 or something. one of the students at my college bought one, felt nice to play but wasn't sold on the tone (but that could of just been how his was dialed in)

Not sure if already shared but Blackstar are releasing some bass combos! https://www.blackstaramps.com/uk/ranges/unity

most of my bitsas have cheap as possible fender style heads from ebay, they are smaller than the ones i took off a neck and needed the holes re drilling. pretty sure they are smaller than Wilkinson ones. there pretty good for the money, never had a problem with tuning stability and they've taken couple of whacks and still work fine and didn't disintegrate! but do take a while to come through.

little plastic P clips could work well, jusy screw into the underneath, would look quite neat

but now you can run a RAT cable between all your pedals! surely that's useful??... right?...
-
didn't actually pickup on that till you mentioned it!

http://www.musicradar.com/news/namm-2018-the-rat-tail-gives-you-vintage-rat-distortion-tones-in-a-guitar-cable just found this, I've always found having effects pedals was just too complicated!?

Laney Richter bass cab. Who'd have thought.
Andytre replied to leschirons's topic in General Discussion
i always tell my bass playing students if they want a good cheap cab to get one of these and they all ignore me as its a Laney! i'll have to show them this thread! i used one for band practices at our local rehearsal rooms and thought it was a great cab with my genz 12.2. the owner has since moved it into his studio rooms for bass tracking. -
Cheap bass rigs that you love , and beat your high end rigs
Andytre replied to kevvo66's topic in Amps and Cabs
i was given a Ashdown Blueline combo for free, one of the UK made ones. and i do like it! its not powerful enough for big gigs but smaller ones or home practice its ace! good tone, nice and simple and best of all free! i ended up cutting it in half so its a separate head and cab, popped a 300watt celestion speaker i had lying around in it because why not! -
I'm a big fan of those Artec Preamps. have them in 2 precision's and got another on route for a MM precision build. they're simple cheap and sound good to me! i haven't actually hooked up the ground in one of mine but it doesn't hum so a lucky accident! also i now have iceman GAS thanks for that!!

I have a bitsa with a ply body, it sounds fine, its got a cheap pickup and a cheap artec preamp in it but it sounds like a P bass should. I havent painted it it came with a great black finish on it. If i hadn't of put in the active pre and routed out for the battery i probably wouldn't even know its ply

i have the 12.2 best amp i've ever had. went to bass direct tried everything left with one of the last 12.2s available! the 6.2 will be a great little amp
-
Depending on thickness i use a standard paper holepunch to put holes in mine, ive also used a 8mm drill bit on thicker ones. Does a good job

Looks good! My diy pedal board was just12mm ply cut to shape and then just painted black! Did the job but wasn't pretty!
