  1. Why is there a market for any counterfeit goods? Why do poorer people often desire clothes and brands that signify wealth while the uber rich often “whisper” their affluence? Why aren’t all cats grey? I suspect that there are many different reasons why people do this.
  2. I don’t like headless basses. it’s probably not the instruments but a pavlovian response. Flashbacks to shiny suits and horrendous ‘80s music.
  3. Yep This may be useful. The self-management download plan’s work for me. This and Yoga, though always listen to your body: https://purephysiomsk.co.uk/conditions/mechanical-back-pain/
  4. If you were nearer to Bristol I would be very interested. Sadly Derby is a little far.
  5. Anything over £1000.
  6. Don’t bother with the effort and expense of making a fake, just buy this: Not mine BTW
  7. Great to see a serious attempt at sustainable live shows: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-bristol-67617094

  8. I like it. Wouldn’t pay £250 for it but I still like it.
  9. Hi, no it’s still available
  10. oceans and streams - black keys
  11. They are just a bit of entertainment rather than being meaningful in any way. The best guitarist is highly subjective and also requires that they are well known so usually rock guitarists. Carlos Santana is a great (rock) guitarist but I wouldn’t put him on any list as I wish he wouldn’t endlessly widdle over every song. Others may disagree.
  12. If we are going down that route I’ve sold a mini cooper, a vw camper van, golf gti (all for peanuts) and many others that would be worth way more than $80K now … Absolutely pointless to look back with what if’s …
  13. its not so bad these days dog days are over - florence and the machine
  14. Allegedly he was so prolific and slightly divorced from reality that he had hundreds of hours of work some full budget and ready for release down right through to very early home recordings. Strange fellow according to some:
  15. Just sounds like a Beatles song to me. Could have slotted into a later album and no doubt been a slow burner. As others have said the technology is very interesting and it’s got sentimental/nostalgic charm. Now if someone could raid Prince’s vault with this technology there’s probably enough material for a decade of posthumous releases. Edit: Whether this is a good thing or a bad thing I don’t know. Hopefully done with love.
  16. I would think it was gathering dust on a wall and generating little interest. There is no context to this story. Maybe it was 60 years ago in an agricultural one horse town where $70 was acceptable for an item nobody had much use for?
  17. like swimming - morphine
  18. easy ( like sunday morning) - faith no more (best version imo)
  19. this (wagon) wheels on fire - siouxie and the banshees (version)
  20. I find my playing limited by my ineptitude and lack of discipline!
  21. Indeed. I didn’t get a penny and worked throughout but know colleagues and business owners that were kept afloat by it. Ask 10 different people about Covid and get 10 different responses. They locked down too late, they shouldn’t have locked down, they protected the elderly at the expense of the young. They killed the elderly by moving them from hospital wards to care homes. They provided vaccines for all, they forced vaccines on everyone for a fake pandemic etc Edit: One thing is for sure it cost a fortune, there were some massive c0ck ups and we will be paying for it for years.
  22. Is it possible that the instruments that have survived 5 decades without being parted out, destroyed etc were the good ones? Fender churn out a massive number of instruments every year but there are not that many 50+ year old ones available.
  23. The link goes into some detailed critiques and further reading for those that are interested. The breakdown I gave is just a soundbite from the BBC.
