  1. Inflation is rocketing for several reasons including a supply side crisis and rising fuel costs. The situation in the UK is even worse as we have a weak currency. Most commodities are traded in $s. As the £ has fallen 14% against the $ and is anticipated to fall further costs will continue to go up. Its a tricky situation to get out of. As we import more than we export the £ in our pocket will continue to be devalued and costs will continue to rise.

  3. The same can be said for car dealers. I’ve been looking recently and a local Honda guy pips me to the sale every time and sells the vehicle on at a price increase. Irritating but they aren’t doing anything wrong, just making a living. If this site was called HondaChat he would definitely be a member and scouring the for sale section.

  6. The problem with cruise ships for me would be; Im not particularly keen on gyms, casinos, shops, buffets or crowds of strangers I can’t get away from. Being stuck miles from home surrounded by sea with all of those things doesn’t sound like something I would do for money, let alone pay money to do.

  8. Belated feedback- apologies! Bought a Kiogen loom from Dave. Very helpful chap and quick postage. Thanks again.
  9. IMO in the same way as a pair of Nikes made bespoke and collectible because some rapper has added his name to the design or some famous arty type has made them spectacular garish the actual end product won’t be any better quality than the mass produced item. It’s the extra time and cost involved in the limited run that you are paying for. FWIW my thoughts on the original vintage instruments that a lot of the CS shop stuff replicate is some instruments for whatever quirk of fate just play and sound better than others made in the same batch. If an instrument has survived 40 or 50 years it’s likely to be one of the good ones that somebody has loved and cared for. The ones that didn’t get loved for whatever reason have been broken up, burned whatever. Spending 100 hours replicating the 1 in 100 or whatever won’t necessarily make it play or sound the same. It will probably look pretty cool though.
  10. Surely this same debate could be had about any bespoke built limited edition products vs mass produced items? If you want something different and have the money to pay for a limited run item I can’t see the harm. Some people out there pay £1000 for limited run trainers. I think they have a screw loose but it keeps someone in a job.
