  1. Pretty difficult to judge music from another era entirely. When the world was listening to Vera Lynn and Doris Day he must have been astonishing.
  2. I would second that opinion. I’m not the seller but that’s a lot of bass for the cash. Yamaha BB’s and Sterling Ray 34’s can be found second hand for your budget as well which are great value for money. Edit: The only caveat being neck width. If a player has smaller hands a J width neck may be more suitable.
  3. In my teens I really wanted a Stingray as I saw Simon Gallop live with The Cure a few times playing one. It wasn’t really the association with the player, Id just never seen a Stingray before and thought it looked and sounded amazing. I still do.
  4. nah give me the raw honesty of dolly parton any day. im a closet country fan.
  5. I never really saw Nick Cave as a goth. Id put him closer to Tom Waits in terms of theatre and character driven prose. I like plenty of goth music, if taken with a heavy dose of irony as it’s all fairly ridiculous.

  8. Tom Waits Leonard Cohen Nick Cave Shane MacGowan All superb and Lyrically wonderful. Guaranteed to clear a party in seconds (apart from fairy tale of new york - the pogues lovecats….)
  9. first and last and always - sisters of mercy
  10. baby, it’s cold outside - ray charles
