  1. Folsom prison blues - Johnny Cash
  2. Whatever floats your boat. Keeps people in work and it’s more fun than designer luggage or Botox.
  3. Other than the fact there are very few of them or the association with Geddy Lee and Jason Smith I can’t think of any reasons that an affluent Rush fan or a collector of music memorabilia would want one.
  4. I don’t think the people that buy these are concerned whether they are x times better than y.
  5. Money in the bank is getting virtually no interest and inflation is far higher than is reported. If you want to invest in instruments, old BMX bike, 80s nostalgia or a new and improved beer belly go ahead it’s your money. Just don’t get carried away.
  6. Mellon collie and the infinitive sadness - Smashing Pumpkins
  7. Land of hope and glory - Madness
  8. Sounds like you have saved yourself a lot of grief and public humiliation. There are two reasons I would join a band. Possibly to make some cash but much more likely to meet friends with similar musical taste. It doesn’t look like your current band will do either.
  9. Looks like it sells 6 times faster than a MIM Geddy Lee as I have searched on line and they all appear to be sold.
  10. I think you know the answer to your question then. Tough decision but if he can’t even acknowledge that this is a major failing then there is nothing that can be done. Either you and the drummer get psychic abilities or the band will always suck live.
  11. The guitarist may be highly experienced with many gigs under his belt with the conference to improvise. If this is the case though I would hope he would be able to signal his changes to the rest of the band and have the maturity to guide the less experienced members so they were working with him and nailing the songs in rehearsal. I haven’t played in a band for a long time and when I was in one we were all equally inept so stuck rigidly to the structure. We were fairly rubbish but I saw plenty of local bands live who were technically more proficient than us but sucked live as they were doing exactly what your guitarist does. It was like watching 10 year olds in a local football tournament. 11 would be strikers all doing their own thing.
  12. Sir Psycho sexy/ RHCP
  13. The lion sleeps tonight- Tight fit sorry had to be done
  14. Baggy Trousers - Madness
  15. Generally I’m ambivalent about relic jobs BUT if ever there was a candidate for a sympathetic relic job that bass naked must be it. At a great price too.
  16. Loser - Beck
  17. Rattled by the rush - Pavement
  18. Or how delusional many guitarists and singers are. A band without a rock solid drummer and bassist are going nowhere.
  19. 1969 - Iggy and the Stooges
  20. Telephone call from Istanbul - Tom Waits Closest I can think of to Morocco
  21. Try a little tenderness - Otis Redding
  22. Sister luck - The black crowes
  23. A great guitarist is one that knows how to reign themselves in and not to dominate a song. Sounds like he is pretty immature to be honest. Maybe I am missing something but isn’t the point of a covers band to try and replicate the original song? There’s certainly room to put your interpretation out but I doubt the audience is going to put up with it being rewritten just so the guitarist can show off his bag of tricks.
  24. Never Enough- The Cure
  25. I don’t know anything - Mad Season
