Yes that’s the brand, should have looked there first sorry! Thank you bud, will dig the soldering iron out and have a crack, stay tuned for more obvious questions 😂
-
Does that mean I can get a push/pull pot and coil split?

It’s a Dunable Soapbar Humbucker.

P bass pickup in neck position, soap bar at the bridge. Vol/vol/tone. Neck pickup sounds glorious and volume works as it should. Bridge pickup has very low output and volume seems to be on or nothing, but it’s so low it’s difficult to tell. Couple of wires from the bridge pickup (white and green at the top of the photo) aren’t connected to anything and sleeved off. I have a multimeter but don’t know what I’d be looking for! Neck volume - bridge volume - tone

Anyone seen/used/heard any of these in the flesh? http://customshop.seymourduncan.com/lemmy-kilmister-signature/

I remember trying a Tokai Talbo in Denmark Street around 2000/2001 I wish I'd got it, haven't seen another since. Every time I go it seems a bit worse, I thought most of the shops are now owned by the same people?

I think I'm pretty much there tbh, first band practise with it this morning so will let you know. Thanks for the offer!
Yep thems the notes that I play...well actually I play E D C# B C# E but we do it in E not Eb :-)
Ta!

Yeah the horns soloed are fantastic, think I'm gonna copy them for the whole chorus.
Keyboard of some sort. It will help with everything and is wonderfully straightforward in layout, theory just seems to fall out of it. I picked up an old Yamaha organ (two manuals, bass pedals, built-in drum machine, etc.) a few weeks ago. I am learning like never before.
Now that's a good idea! I'm having a crack at the Major's theory lessons first but will be scouring ebay if that fails.

Just looked at prices...think I'll just have to bite the bullet and sit down with the bass and some exercises!

Don't think I've got room for a Sousaphone!

What this thread has shown me is I need to improve my theory! I find it difficult on the bass though (just like playing songs!) so thinking picking up another instrument from scratch and learning theory/sight reading with that. Played euphonium for a while in school and enjoyed brass, anyone recommend a brass instrument that learning theory on would help bass (Bass clef obvs!) , but also something I could play in non-brass bands (eg ska!)?

Thanks for the link, great article, look forward to having a listen to the clips later.

Thanks for the responses guys, went back to it this morning before leaving the house and tuning properly helped. It was a touch out by the end of my practise last night which I reckon was causing the doubt.

Trying to figure out the descending part after the chorus but just can't get it, every time I think I've cracked it the next play through it sounds off. The closest I think is Eb - Db - C - Bb - C - Eb... does anyone double it up and can tell me for sure? Hate having that niggle where I'm not 100% sure. Other than that, much fun!

I had the same thing as you, heard myself solo'd in studio and was appalled at how noisey it was, it was like I was hammering on every note with the left hand. I found playing with the bass unplugged, not altering setup (which felt right - and still does) meant that I could hear what was actually going on, and has improved my left hand technique a lot.

That's the only Sub-Lime I've seen apart from mine, love it. As well as your gain and volume kobs on either side, on the bottom you can control distortion tone and crossover (which frequencies the distortion starts at), and the big ol' wheel at the top is a kind of on the fly 'blend' control. It's the distortion pedal I've had most interest from other players, which I take as a good review! Also had to get mine from the states because there weren't any around when I was looking, this is a great price.
