1. Wow would have loved to have seen the Minutemen, had to share...as soon as I got my ticket! His podcast is great too...3hrs of chat and music from anywhere and everywhere http://twfps.com/
2. http://www.wegottickets.com/event/202508 Woohhoooooo! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UDr25zjd4yM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E-eQTLmjNug The Prince Albert is a tiny venue as well, going to be awesome!
3. I'd tell him that you're too busy to arrange a courier hence the 'collection only' and sell to second bidder.
4. Has he sent you money? If not then no harm no foul.
5. Late to the party but I'll be having a go at this. Very interested in the K-metering, one thing that's always bugged about my mixes is that they feel a bit 'squashed' and reading the article about K-metering I can see why!
6. Lady singer, big rock grooves influenced by Red Fang, Mastodon, Clutch, Black Angels etc: http://www.shipofgold.bandcamp.com
7. Thanks Neepheid, haven't looked at the Victory before, what's the nut width on them?
8. Twang and grunt are fine, what music do you play? Do you know how it in drop D?
9. Thanks for the link, really like the look of the cardinal bass anyone know what they're like?
10. Oh I like them! Troy from Mastodon plays a Yamaha which is good enough for me.
11. Firstly thanks for the replies! Not really a Stingray or Fender fan and can't afford the Wals/Alembics (the Westone Thunder is definitely nearer my price range!) Favourite bass is my Guild B301 so a Pilot is looking good at the moment, maybe an Ibanez Roadstar (always been a fan as was mad on Supergrass in my youth). The Arias look like they've got quite a thin neck? Also not too worried about it being an 'iconic 80s bass' as my 80s bass hero was playing a 70s EB3!
12. No worries re stuff for sale, just need some ideas for basses to look at/for!
13. Birthday coming up soon and was thinking of getting a bass from my year of birth to celebrate both of us getting this far. 80s basses are not my specialty so what have you got that was made in 1983?
14. FWIW the VM HH doesn't have all the switches, just pickup selector, tone and volume.
15. That thing is certainly witchcraft, think it gets the other 9v from another dimension.
16. Discovered last night that the Diago 9v to 18v adaptor stops the cheap Maplins 9v PSU squealing, which is nice!
17. Used a few different methods from all singing all dancing schaller (which were great) and everything in between but always end up going back to the Grolsch washers. Don't take the strap off so that's not a problem.
18. Nice one, ordered.
19.
For practice, just iPhone in, headphones out and again it's fantastic.
Sorry mate, just want to check - do you have a cab connected when you run it like that?
20. Andy sorted me out with a spare adaptor he had for a PSU. Excellent to deal with and quick postage, cheers Andy!
21. Going to try out one of these tomorrow, free chorus pedal dealio has swung it. Guessing if it's used as a headphone amp it doesn't need a speaker connected? Won't be able to afford a cabinet for another couple of months...
22. Had a rehearsal this weekend and the squeal is definitely gone - cheap Maplin PSU is back with the tuner. Will be interesting to see if there is a difference running it at 18v.
23. Ah cool give me a shout if you do have a spare one, won't be able to get it until I get paid but def interested!
24. I've been looking at teh Diago Micropower 9 funnily enough, looks good and if no squeal on 9v they do an adaptor which allows it to run at 18v.
