5. Hi, I have not been gigging much recently and having just bought a MM stingray 5 of here I am loving it an using it as my main bass. So I have now decided with a heavy heart to sell my Lakland skyline DJ 4. Its black sparkle with maple board and pearl block inlays fitted with aero pick-ups. No major dings on the bass and set up is very nice. Its one of the niceset Dj's I have played . Looking £600.00 plus postage which is £30.00 from here to the mainland ( I live in Northern Ireland) Bass will be well packed for shipping ....includes gig bag but alas no case!! Ok some pics .................
 6. Hi, This is an ubber long shot I know. I have just recently purchased a 5 string musicman through these forums and love it to bits.... I have been bittne by the 5 string bug again....... Anyone fancy swapping their 5 string skyline DJ for a 4 string Skyline DJ? preferable with aero pick-ups....might even consider a Joe Osborne but needs to be one or the other..... I will stand back now and watch the tumble weeds roll by!!!!
 7. Hi, I have the very same bass and up until recenty I used the black nylon rotosound strings and they were fantastic. I have since changed them to round wounds because the project i am doing at the minute need a brighter sound to it (more zing). But the bass sounded at its best with the nylon rotosounds. Highly recommended!!

 16.
+1 on all the above, do not get your (valuable) pickup rewound. This sounds a pretty bizarre problem - a dead spot lasting all the way from the 5th fret onwards but only affecting the D&G strings when amplified does sound like a pickup issue but nevertheless, have it checked out before you start looking at rewinds. If it works absolutely fine below the 5th fret why would it not above, unless it's some weird inductance/capacitance problem? Maybe your first hurdle will be to get the pickup out. Be really careful with this as you can quite easily slice through the windings if you use too much elbow grease. If you find another pickup does the same thing then you'll know it's the bass - you could even swap the coils around if you're careful and the wires are long enough - then you can see if the problem swaps over to the other two strings... I guess what I'm trying to say is try all other avenues first before you resort to surgery - I'd do the same on my hundred quid Epiphone so your so your multi-thousand pound vintage P demands at least that. Let us know what you find....
I have decided to leave this with a trusted luthier bloke over here to look at , I am not to be trusted when it comes to things like this as I have two left hands (anybody thats heard me play will agree !) so I will let you know what the outcome is. I am in no rush so may well be after christmas. But will report back results.. Guys all the input is appreciated and invaluable.... the wealth of knowledge on these boards never fails to astound me!
