1. Tim's bought my P bass & you couldn't wish for a more straight-forward, no nonsense easy-peasy purchaser! Top drawer all round - thanks Tim. Cheers Tim No, we're not related . . .
  2.
BOO HISS!!!!!!! It may well be sold but we (well me) DEMAND comedy plate mock ups before thread lock
No comedy plate mockups to see here, but sweet dreams Karl . . .
  3. Haha - thanks karlfer - I'll refrain from generating comedy plate mockups this morning . . . Very kind of you to say geofio, thank you.
  4. Sold subject to the usual blah, blah, blahs - but will confirm for definite once all completed.
  5. All PMs replied to - obviously it'll be first-come-first-served but I will let everyone know the current state of play. Cheers T
  6.
I think I know the answer to this already, but I'm assuming it's a modern "C" shaped / profile neck?
Howdy Marc - As far as I'm aware it is yes, but I'm sure someone with far more knowledge than I will say if it's not. Thanks for the kind words.
Great bass. Great bloke. FABULOUS photography. Hurry up and get it bought peeps.
Thanks Karlfer, v kind & hugely appreciated.
Hell's teeth that's amazing! I might get myself into trouble here.......
LOL - I'd wager not in as much trouble as I'm in with Mrs Tim, hence the sale I've realised I've forgotten to add the weight - I've just ordered some decent scales so will edit the post once they arrive with the exact weight, but I must say it's seriously light compared to other P's I've had the pleasure of. Cheers all, Tim
  7. Hello there all, I'm selling my 2004-05 MIA Fender Precision Bass - to be fair she's way above my league & I really should thin the herd a bit so I'm letting her go. She plays FANTASTICALLY well with the perfect neck for me & a low action, plus sounds exactly as she should. Totally original & at first glance she's mint - but looking closely there are a couple of marks which are hugely exaggerated in these pictures - but I've photographed her with studio lights as they're very unforgiving so you can see her at her 'worst' here - she genuinely looks much better in the flesh. Only point to note is that there is some lacquer crazing on the back of the neck - mainly around the 12th fret which you can see in the attached pic - which is somewhat bizarre as the rest of her is in excellent condition - but is totally unnoticeable when playing. Fitted with the S1 switch & complete with OHSC & case candy as pictured. £650 firm please, with payment via cash, bank transfer or PayPal but you cover the fees, & I'm afraid I'm out of the market for trades at the moment. I'm more than happy to box up securely & courier to you for an additional £30 (UK mainland) but would ideally prefer you to come & have a noodle to make sure she's as good as I think she is before parting with any lolly. I'm just outside Kimbolton in Cambridgeshire & work from home, so am pretty flexible on timings, plus the kettle's always on . . . Many thanks Tim
  8.
Seen this scratch plate someone's had made for there's and love it. Where can I go to get one made?
That's a lovely plate indeed, but unfortunately as much as I'd like to I only work with printed plates rather than multi-ply ones, so I'd need an original hi-res image to work with to create that kind of pattern, although I do have a Mike Dirnt template on file ;-) Cheers Tim
  9. Hahaha - GREAT pic!
  10.
Oh ha de bloody ha, WRONG EDDIE ya muppet (as if you didn't know!)
Sorry mate, my bad
  11.
I'm seriously considering getting a white pearl with Eddie on it, for my Sterling
Thanks for the kind words Karl - & don't hesitate to shout if you'd like a plate for your Sterling - whatever floats your boat . . .
  12. Just received a PJ from Karl & to say I'm delighted is an understatement Easy peasy lemon squeezy - everything top notch, über quick & as straight-forward as a straight thing - plus as has been mentioned previously, I'd say it was under described! BUY WITH CONFIDENCE - unless you're selling a Hot Rod - then SELL WITH CONFIDENCE! Cheers Karl
  13. The oven method definitely worked for me on an old 70s plate & it's common practice to heat - obviously not too high tho!
  14. Great work there Conan - glad to be of help 😃

  16. I post mine as mentioned above really - placed in soft plastic bag & then sandwiched between corrugated cardboard within a padded Jiffy Bag. Royal Mail Second Class Recorded delivery is around £4.00 as it's quite a big package. If Mr Postie is rough he could break any big & flat package really - but so far touch wood Touch Wood TOUCH WOOD I've never had a problem.

Thanks guys - seems the general consensus is to leave the colour as is - which I'm more than happy to do as it's lovely, I'm not a white plate kind of fella, so I'm having a play with different colour plates to bring the colour alive. Here's my current two favourite options: Plus if any of you use Facebook there's some further designs here: Plate Colour Options What do you think - 'classy' or 'retro'? Again, just wondering - can anyone confirm if custom colours were originally offered, or was it just the two wood finishes?
My, oh my, oh my! What a cracker!! The colour really suits it - I would leave it or better still. . . . . . . . . Sell it to me!!!!!!!!
The honest truth is that I bought it as I was curious because I've heard really good things about them, plus it just 'feels' right. However, according to Mrs TimAl apparently I already have far too many basses, ahem, so I'm happy to talk. I'm out jamming with some friends tonight so I'm going to give it a proper comparison against my early MIJ Fender P this evening to see which one I prefer, as I've now grown out of insisting that a P must be a Fender . . . LOL Thanks & Happy Monday(s). Tim

Hello there all, I've just managed to get my grubby mitts on this lil beauty: Looking at the original specs am I right in thinking I've got a BL-800 - Serial number F812701 so mid 1981 & it must have been refinished at some point because it wasn't originally available in this colour? If so I'm very tempted to take it back to the original wood but if it's an original colour then perhaps it would be criminal to change it now. Tis a cracker & everything I've read & heard about them is true - a fantastic player with real grunt - a keeper! Keep up the great work! Tim

  24. AT - Oh I wish! Nope, a preEB MM Stingray - just about do-able, although Mrs TimAl wasn't quite so impressed with its provenance . . . Ahem
  25. I had the pleasure of buying a bass from Nick earlier this year - top fella all-round & couldn't agree more, they were indeed big shoes to fill in Jamiroquai but to me he did it with style.
