1.
Yes, why not try the Bass Players Market UK?...Click on my signature below
I've had a lot of luck there thanks to his group! I managed to sell my Musicman Bongo within a week.
 2. Bump! I know Marcus personally and he's a stellar chap to deal with. Pretty sweet bass too!
 3. Such compliments! Someone's got to snap this fine thing up, already. If not, I'll try and see anyone will buy it at the Herts Bass Bash.
 4. Two hour train journey? Absolutely. This is too good to pass up! 5. I'll probably do a bunch of clips in Logic, some with drums for the sake of context, I'm not sure what I'll upload them on. Also, just checked your blog out.
 6.
You just like showing off your Bongo at every opportunity. If you were Silvio Berlusconi, you would have Bongo Bongo parties. When you're old, you'll hold up your arms and you'll have Bongo wings. Your favourite drink is Um Bongo.
You bet I do! I just put it down 5 minutes ago, oddly enough. I saw the blueburst option and thought "well, I never!"
 7. Roy is pretty accessible via Facebook. Shoot him a message and you should be dandy to go.
 8. Works fine for me! The really cheap and bright sunbursts you see on really low end Squiers and Encores make me feel a bit ill. Not a huge fan of sunburst but this bass works just great for me, irrespective of the finish.
 9. Boss CS3 for sale! I do fancy a trade for anything. Could be a pack of strings (5 string only) or could be 50 Snickers bars. Anything you like as I'm not using this. Cash is also pretty cool too. I'm based in Hove!
 10. Welcome aboard, Liam!
 11. A P-bass would do the trick nicely. If it's a bit more modern, I would just slap some new strings on. I doubt anyone in the audience is going to think; "Wow, what a great bass line. I would've preferred if he used D'addarios!" whilst downing a pint.
 12.
Quality bit of kit here...... and the bass ain't too shabby either

Got one of these as a back-up - great little amps - weighs nothing, fits in a gig bag, blows people minds.....how can such a little amp make so much noise??? I use a Focus LT 112 with mine instead of the standard 10" cab. GLWYS
Thank you, gentlemen!
 13. I've got 3 packs of DRs coming and I'm tempted to do a recorded comparison for all of you lovely folks. I've got a pack of DR Lo-Riders, DR Fat Beams and a pack of DR HiBeams. I'll be doing them on my Musicman Bongo 5Hs going into a POD. Any hints and tips? What kind of clips would y'all want? I'll delete the thread once the ball is rolling.
 14. Hey, all! Up for grabs is my GenzBenz Shuttle 3.0 10T. A perfect, lightweight combo that's suitable for electric and upright bass. There's tonnes online about the amp itself but here are some specs regarding the great, little amp. Great condition and only used for practice. 15.
Must be good for stability with the Bongo? Stability-with-the-Bongo... it's a small village in Gloucestershire.
The Bongo is awesome but standing up, it has a ridiculous amount of neckdive. The Mono strap kind of helps a bit.
 16.
Loving the pointy shoes...
Having size 13 feet don't help much, I can assure you!
 17. http://i893.photobucket.com/albums/ac132/ChunkyMunky92/ScreenShot2014-09-20at204103_zps14ff8e0c.png The Musicman Bongo, of course! Cringey picture but still. At least the Bongo looks sweet as!
 18. This sounds like great fun. Shame I'm stuck down in Sussex.
 19. I had that when I first transcribed 'Rio' by Duran Duran. This was a couple of years back and I had just started properly but I got into it, half an hour on 50% speed and carried on. Got it within an hour after that.
 20.
Most cover band sets have too many songs in them I don't like, which is why I'm not currently in a covers band. And I really can't be bothered with all the pain involved in starting up my own covers band so I can put together a set I like playing. But I suppose if you're joining an already-established covers band you pretty much have to suck it up and play what they want you to play, no matter how crappy. My particular bugbears are 500 Miles, All Right Now and Sex On Fire. Particularly All Right Now, as I played it in a covers band in the mid-seventies and it was tedious stale buns then, so I'm sure as hell not going to be playing it forty years later! Jesus, there are limits!! And as for The Proclaimers - well, obviously they must be lashed. Over and over again. Until they drop.
Hated that one from the first time I played it! I thought I was the only one.
 21. If I'm there, you're welcome to try it on the Bongo of mine.
 22.
I definitely have experience of musicians who think that they are ridiculously good and wouldn't hesitate to describe themselves as such; however, they don't generally need to go to Gumtree to find a band to play in. I'd be more worried about being irritated than outplayed here...
He seemed real modest about his playing but I can guess that this guy is going to be a whizz. Just going on my intuition here, but I'm kind of hoping I'm wrong to a lesser degree.
There's nothing special about 'Autumn Leaves' et al per se, unless you're expected to improvise a solo spot..! It's just chords, just like any other song. Depending on the 'swing' required, a bit of 'walking' over the chord notes, with subtle 'ghost' notes, half-tone bracketing, chromatic joining runs and such and you're away. Soloing can be done with a bit of homework; improvising (well...) is the difficult bit. If you've the chords to your repertoire, just (slowly, at first...) play them through as simple arpeggios. I'd start off with the 'vanilla' chords at the outset; that's the simple ones without the fancy extensions such as 9ths and 13ths. Not quite top spot at Ronnie Scott's for starters, but not rocket surgery, either, I'd suggest.
To think, I was going overboard with making sure it was sounding perfect. Could it be truly that easy?
 23.
Download, then change the file extension to 'pdf' or mp3. It's really a pdf or mp3 file (as noted in the text...), but the quaint forum software frigs it up; it's a 'feature' (read 'bug'... ) in the forum software. Hope this helps.
I'm an advanced player and this guy helped me unravel the complications of Jazz bass. Don't think too difficultly! He's the man to ask.
