I'm compiling a showreel for a company overseas to do a hotel gig. I'm looking to do about 4 tracks with just me and a drummer and I'm trying to think how to best display my abilities. I thought about splitting the videos like this; - Playing way behind the beat ('Master Blaster' seems to be the choice one for me). - Playing dead centre on the beat ('Billie Jean'? 'We Are Family'?). - Playing ahead of the beat (something Latin-Pop, Jamiroquai etc...). - Something modern and comes from the dance vein of things ('Rather Be'?). What would you guys suggest for this? I'm open to suggestions on this on. I'm only able to get 4 tracks in because of the financial side of things. The setlist for the most part is usually a mix of classics and modern stuff, so please feel free to suggest away. Thanks for reading!

I only used to do it briefly whilst I was in college (as well drinking and smoking dope) but the one thing that helped me stop is to have a goal in mind. If you were to calculate how much you'd save in not smoking and something you want to treat yourself to (i.e gear is always good) then you can start a fund that goes as an incentive. I gave up for my girlfriend and she bought me a bass as a surprise for quitting. You never know what happens! Best of luck to you and go kick ass.

I was surprised with the quality of the Ernie Ball stuff. Depends how much you'd want to splash out on a set?

Oh, boy... -
I was recently at the mini-bass bash and I managed to forget to bring my cab for it. Thankfully, a very kind gentleman (whose name and username escapes me) lent me his Glockenlang cabinet. I plugged my MarkBass F1 head into it and wow - I was amazed by it. I'd love to know more about the type of stuff available and the kind of stuff that is does better than it's other competitors. Does anyone here own anything from the line and could chime in on this? I get the impression it's certainly connoisseurs stuff.

Dreadfully tempting. Got a price and times at all, good sir? -
It's definitely genuine. The guy originally posted this a few months back and I almost bought it.

Awesome pictures, Nik! Can't wait for the next gathering. -
My Yamaha TRB1005 up for sale! I originally bought this on my travels in the US and since I have my Bongo 5, it has become rather redundant. I will be the first admit that it needs a set-up and something to replace the comedy chrome knob. If you'd like more pictures, drop me a message. I'll throw a Fender GigBag to go with it despite it not coming with a case. DROPPED TO £249 FOR TODAY! Here are some specs, though I'm sure you know all about them: Construction: Bolt-on Scale Length: 35" (889mm) Fingerboard: Rosewood Radius: 19 11/16 (500mm) Frets: 24 Body: Maple/Alder Neck: Maple Bridge: Solid Brass Pickups: Alnico V Hum-Canceled x 2 Controls: Master Volume, Pickup Balancer, 3-BandEQ
