FS: Yamaha TRB5 (Fretless) SOLD SOLD SOLD
ChunkyMunky replied to ChunkyMunky's topic in Basses For Sale
My conventional weighing scales don't seem to be picking it up (but seems to read all 18 stone of me somehow ). I'll PM you when I acquire a more accurate reading rather than guessing or finding something online, alyctes. ________________________ This is garnering quite some interest at the moment. I'm still open to trades. Anything EBS, SWR, Eden or Yamaha related takes priority. Cheers! -

**DOWN TO £399** Hello, everyone. I'm selling my Genz Benz ShuttleMax 9.2 with the matching footswitch (and even the original box too). Rather than writing a superflous selling sensation for all of you lovely people to endure, I'll leave you with Ed Friedland's run down of the amp as well as the technical info to go with it. Said technical information: http://www.genzbenz.com/?fa=detail&mid=2664&sid=610&cid=95 Mr.Friedland's Amazing Demonstration: I'm based out of West Sussex and of course, I'm interested in hearing any trade or p/ex offers. Any questions, just ask.

*** NOW £399 FOR A LIMITED TIME *** What's got no frets and will get you laid? This lovely MIJ Yamaha TRB5 (MIJ) fretless. Bad and potentially shameless baiting aside, this is a brilliant fretless bass. Featuring an active preamp, the lines on the fretboard are prominent on the contrary to what the pictures might well suggest. It's in near mint condition other than a couple of dings. The lines are prominent but subtle for those wondering. I'm open to trades, p/ex and other lovely things. (5 string basses, SWR, Eden, EBS, anything - just try me) I'm based out of West Sussex. Thanks for reading. EDIT: Props to the lovely people who updated the format and the system to upload photos. You've made what was once a laborious chore to upload and move over here a real simple task. Thank you.

The fretless genius that is Steve Bailey managed to run over his bass in a parking lot after a gig after forgetting it.
-
Oh yeah, that is true! I guess it's all a totally subjective thing. I forgot this existed.

Well played. Might not be everyone's cup of tea but I rather enjoyed that. I mean, how many other people can double thumb the head to 'Donna Lee'?

Needs must! Thanks! Hopefully, it should go. I've got bills incoming and potentially a bass I've seen on here I'm eyeing up. Has to be done. Hello! The intonation is always set due to the nature of the composition of the neck material. This is typical of carbon fibre necks on other basses like Zons, Moses etc.. They're designed in a way that the neck won't compensate to external variables such as heat, humidity and such. Rather low maintenance, essentially. Feel free to PM me if you have other questions. -

I'd love to come along to this. I'm without a double bass however, I've got something interesting to bring to the table. A Greenboy 1x12 and a Genz Benz Shuttle. -

DrumGenius?

I think it's a mixture of left and right hand technique. Slow the YouTube video down to x0.75 speed (bottom right corner on the video) and you'll hear it's a series of triplets. With the first note being sound to outline the 'harmony', the other two notes being percussive. Vocally, it works; ONE-and-ah. 1a. Left hand tapped note on the first 2a. Muted thumb down on the second triplet note 3a. A right hand pluck on the third triplet note. Another permutation: 1b. Down thumb. 2b. Up thumb. 3b. Right hand pluck. I'm a bit surprised with this video. I'm not a slapper by any means (hahahaha) but if you slow it down, it sounds like a flurry of triplets. I'd also hazard a guess on the player turning the volume up and playing a bit softer to bring it out more. Feel free to correct me, I'm curious as!
