1. Well talking to someone on talkbass they said you can still get lost in the mix with a stingray when using a muff fuzz. So I thought the versatility (primarily the mids) of the musket would be the decider.
2. Well now I have an active bass I'm a little clearer on things. If I want a muff style fuzz then I think I'd go for the musket if i want a fuzz for the real stoner stuff I'd go for the ox fuzz - question is which do I want?
3. I'm looking at getting a new bass, and it's between an american standard p bass and an american deluxe jazz bass. The jazz is the nicer instrument, but it lacks a bit of the low end umph of the precision. But it's far more versatile - essentially what I'm asking is will something like the diamond bass comp give me that 'umph' that the jazz is lacking?
4. Curious about the sadowsky. Got a diamond bass comp, and I've heard the tone hammer can narrow your tone instead of beefing it when combined with it. Also interested in the new mxr m81.
5. I need that bass in my life!
6. I badly want a fuzz, but I can't narrow it down - for low end I love the tfr and the swollen pickle as well, for the mids I love the musket and I also really like the cog tarkin - it sounds really musical. What do I do?
7. I really like the lomenzo hyperdrive, and I like the b3k but the blend knob is crucial. For fuzz you can't look past the musket or tfr. The proco rat sounds pretty mental. I've actually been thinking about grabbing an ashdown nm2, sounds like it could be a great pedal. You could also go for something different like the dr. no effects black magic distortion?
8. lxxwj how do you like the combination of bass big muff and b3k?
9.
I really like the fact that it's essentially the m80 with sweep able mids and no drive- I rarely use mine and would rather use a dedicated pedal
I think this is what I was trying to ask earlier. Is this definitely the case? If so, it may be a dead cert. Still flirting with the b7k, but not sure what I'd use it for; I just love it.
10. I know a lot of people think highly of the W&C phat phuk. I have a tc electronics mini spark and it's great! The primetime switching aspect to it is pretty special too - very happy with this pedal
11. Might be 18v but the Diamond bass comp is epic!
12. Good price, cheaper than a lot of good preamps
13. No, all I'm looking for in a preamp/di is tone-shaping. Seeing as it would save real estate on my board, was wondering how it would rank against the likes of the tone hammer (excluding the ags)?
14. Until this shootout, my favourite fuzz (I think) had been the tarkin, but now the tar kin is a contender! Had been considering the musket, but just didn't sound as good in these videos.
15. A nano is small, but the tine hammer is pretty big. Tbh I'd suggest the pedal train mini - it is a fair bit bigger than the nano, but you'll have plenty of space for the tone hammer and room for any further future purchases.
16. Is this primarily for tone-shaping?
17. cioks schizophrenic?
18. I'm intrigued - in all the videos they really plug the tone-shaping aspect to it, but surely it's got nothing on the m80
19. wonder how this ranks up against the m80
20. was considering this power supply but a bit of a turn off
21. What about pedal couplers? Does anybody use them, they'd allow you to position pedals closer together on the board
22. What about plane waves? The hosa irg's look cool
23. Anybody have experience of the cog effects tarkin fuzz? Sounds like it could be quite tasty.
24. Pedaltrain Nano, or Mini to allow room for any future investments
25. Intriguing, when it eventually comes out it'll be interesting how it compares to the b7k
