  1. Definitely the nicest Alusonic I've seen - I was so tempted to buy this when Bass Direct had it.
  2. I traded a brand new Fender SRV strat + £200 for a Primal Artist when they first came out - worst deal I've ever done. I've tried to sell it on numerous occasions at a vastly reduced price but never get any takes. Its a lovely looking bass but has the worst shielding of any instrument I've ever known. Certainly has the EMG's in this one.The inlays remind me of prawns !
  3. I have been buying basses and guitars recently just because I like the colour / woods - it is truly ridiculous . I bought a Zoom R12 multitrack this week only to find an equivalent Tascam in my guitar 'Pandoras box' that I'd forgotten I had ). And now there is an Antigua Telecaster locally on FB marketplace that is calling to me....
  4. Best - Retrovibe L'il Richard bass( FB Marketplace but a basschatter) Worst - Donner Octave pedal from Amazon.
  5. I completely agree - its not the same thing at all and I'm assuming you aren't getting AI entries in the 'proper' composition challenge. I was just suggesting it as a separate bit of fun.
  6. It would be nice to have an AI composition challenge on here but it doesn't look like many people are using it yet.
  7. I've been having great fun using Udio software to generate songs from my own or copilot assisted lyrics. The results can be awful but some are quite impressive. As this evolves you can see how it is going to change the way music is made ,whether this is for better or worse I'm not sure, but it is sure cool having a proper singer belting out my lyrics given I only play on my own at home. Here's a couple of samples - they aren't Bohemian Rhapsody by any means but took less than 5 minutes to create and not too shabby (IMHO 😀). Embers of Desire.mp4 In Unity We Rise.mp4
  8. I'd like to know what she thinks about AI in music , how it will change the future and what she and the innovative artists she's worked with would make of it.
  9. I quite like Ebay - I've have had less issues buying and selling on it than on any other forum so think this is great news.
  10. Should come with a car rather than a case at that price .
  11. Doesn't that make it completely pointless then ? 🤔
  12. I didn't know they did that - I thought it was just rubbing off paint. - that makes it even worse than I'd imagined.
  13. I agree - I so love some of the Sandberg models ( The black Ida Neilson in particular) but just wish they'd leave the sander alone.
  14. I was hoping they'd be on the Salt and Tar in Bootle - it was good enough for Tom Jones and Status Quo 😁
  15. I had one too and completely agree. I sold it as I needed the space back this and the cab took, but up there with the biggest regrets musically ever. Good luck with the sale.
  16. I bought 2 , upgraded them and sold them on . They were great for the money and some upgrade practice.
  17. Looks familiar - there have been so many - I've lost track !
  18. Not Paul McCartney ! After the 10,000+ people in the queue had got their tickets all that was left were some at £444 each. I wouldn't pay that if he played in my house !
  19. Anybody familiar with these https://baumguitars.com/category/bass/ They look really nice.
  20. Imagine having to do relicing for a living . You build a thing of absolutely beauty and then destroy it to make it more appealing /valuable. Makes no sense at all to me. Is anybody fooled by such fakery ?
  21. But would you get one high end bottle or 8 bottles of Famous Grouse 😆
  22. I have small hands too but love basses so over the years have played alll manner of scale lengths and widths and you do get used to them. The Ibanez basses do have a lovely thin neck but the easiest bass to play in beginner terms I've found is the Retrovibe L'il Richard so if you don't persevere and do wish to buy something new I'd definitely check them out. Reflecting back to my beginner days I think the biggest thing that hindered me was the action of the bass ( particularly back then when cheap instruments could be really poor). As a beginner it is difficult to know what the action should or can be like, so definitely seek advice and make sure the action is nice and low. If not it would probably be worth investing in a setup rather than in a new bass if you are happy with what you've got.
  23. I have one too and it's a really nice guitar as well as midi controller. The small size makes it perefect for playing at a desk.
