I bought this a few minutes before reading this thread -I just liked the spalted maple finish - there are loads at good prices on ebay so thought it worth a punt - hope they aren't as hateful as most of you think !

I had a Progress 3 Deluxe - it looked lovely and was extremely well built but was a bit Meh IMHO ! Getting rid of one of the Tanglewood collaboration basses was like trying to sell the plague.( I'm not sure whether we are counting these though )

Hi Ped, I completely understand what you are saying but I can only judge it on my own experience relative to the other marketplaces. I did leave feedback of course , but in the instances I mentioned, the issue was with the buyer or seller and not something you could have resolved other than by imposing sanctions after the fact and I do appreciate this would in turn bring its own difficulties. Would there be any mileage in having buyer and seller ratings similar to the the feedback scores on ebay, rather than just text based comments requiring a search ? In statistical terms it would be interesting to know how sales are going relative to increased listings but then the site is about basses not market trends ! PS Hope the new job is going well

And you can get the £1 total fees deal which I get quite often on Ebay which is ideal for higher value items. I've found the marketplace on here to be dead even with ridiculously low priced items ( admittedly collection only does not help) so probably best making use of all of the marketplaces. As Ambient notes above, selling on here has become more problematic than it used to be . I bought train tickets from Liverpool to London only to be let down, people committing to buy and then dropping out and turning up for collection after a significant drive for the seller not to be there and not answer any calls. Maybe the Mods could impose more severe penalties for poor buying and selling behaviour - I'd certainly welcome that if it put the standing of the marketplace back to the way it used to be.

I bought a Maruszcyk off this seller and it was unplayable and not as described .it took me an age to get a refund. I know other buyers on here have been more successful but I would definitely recommend going to see it.

A 4 hour round trip but well worth it - in lovely condition. Glad I didn't commit to the abstinence thread. Many thanks To Phil for posting it originally. Bye bye Sire V7 !
