  1. I tried a Cort B4 first which was o.k. but the Marusczyck Elwood absolution is a whole different ball game
  2. Bought a pedal from Alex - awesome service and comms. Happy Days ! Ed
  3. I've just picked up this beauty in a trade - it is just stunning : [sharedmedia=core:attachments:254366] [sharedmedia=core:attachments:254367] [sharedmedia=core:attachments:254368]
  4. That is just sheer class - the woods look phenomenal and so tasteful.

  7. All worked out really well - both couriers delivered in a timely fashion with no damage (The dutch courier was a third of the cost ). Both of us really pleased with our new basses.
  8. Traded my Mensinger Cazpar for Reinier's Maruszczyk Elwood which was potentially a difficult trade with us being located in different countries.Reinier made it extremely easy by sending his bass first which was extremely trusting and was instrumental in making the deal happen. The Elwood arrived in a few days perfectly packaged and was exactly as described. I would have no hesitation in dealing with Reinier again and would thoroughly recommend him.
  9. Do you have to send your bass over if it doesn't currently have a pickguard which could be used as a template I wonder ? Really want one for my new Marusczcyk Elwood - it would be awesome if it could incorporate the control plate (which certainly looks possible)
  10. My Maruszczyk arrived today and it truly is magnificent. Hope our couriers are as efficient and careful as the Dutch ones.
  11. Bought some strings of Sibob- hassle free transaction. Nice One.
  12. Bought a Cort of Wayne - met in person to collect - great guy wouldn't hesitate to deal with again.
  13. Jaco Pastorius and other similar jazz widdlers . I completely appreciate the skill but find it snooze central.
  14. [quote name='Burns-bass' timestamp='1505077438' post='3369365'] Agree 100%. In fact, the last deals I've done have all been in person. It's brilliant meeting Basschatters in person. [/quote] Not so brilliant when they don't show up like last week when I had an hour and a half's drive for nothing !
  15. We've decided to go for it and my Elwood Absolution fretless is winging its way over from the Netherlands as we speak ! Reinier suggested sending his bass first as I had feedback on here with me then sending mine back when I've confirmed everything is o.k. This was a great leap of faith on his part and I completely applaud him for it. Hopefully our respective couriers don't let us down.
  16. In my last foreign deal on here I agreed to meet a seller from France at St Pancras - he was getting the Eurostar. I booked my train ticket from Liverpool and then he backed out leaving me out of pocket for the cost of the ticket. Previously I'd sent a £2k guitar to Estonia which got stuck in an airport because of snow - the buyer had paid up front so it must have been quite a scary wait for him. I'm extremely wary having had a bad experience with a local BC'er this week.
  17. Hi, I'm just discussing a potential trade with a BC newbie with no feedback outside the UK. Both basses involved in the deal would cost over £1000 new . Just wondering if anybody has any advice on what would be a fair and practical arrangement to make this work for both of us if we decide to go ahead ?
