1. Bought a Harley Benton sixer of Rory and it was probably the most pleasant transaction I've had on Basschat. Great bass at a great price, excellently packaged and superb comms all the way. Would love to deal with Rory again in the future.
2. I actually quite like it ! The seller is also selling these which explains quite a lot ! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Smoking-Pepe-the-Frog-Vinyl-Stickers-4chan-Cannabis-Reddit-Kekistan-Memes-/162462879998?hash=item25d38ad0fe:g:vxEAAOSwRvdZZZdZ
3. Yes I'm running Logic 9 - For all I use it I don't need any additional functionality. My concerns about not upgrading would be missing out on security patches but then I could disable the connectivity I suppose.
4. I had an email from the lovely folks at Apple yesterday telling me that my version of Logic won't work in the next IOS update but not to worry as I can just buy it again in the Apple store. This business model sucks - I completely understand that legacy versions of software shouldn't hold back progress and won't be supported indefinitely, however they could at least offer an upgrade discount like most other music software providers. Logic was the only reason for me to own a mac - I've moved to a Samsung phone and tablet and will now move my music software to PC. I really don't get a business model based on arrogance which encourages customers to leave under a cloud presumably never to return.
5. Came across this on youtube and thought it was excellent : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CTc4WoRwB28
6. Now got gas for a psilos - thought I was safe on this thread !
7. Just put a set of NYXL's on my Lodestone and I love them!
8. How about this one for £4,430 more ! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/WAL-Bass-Guitar-Mk1-Custom-Nov-1990-4-string-fretted-rare-collectable-/253088806282?hash=item3aed44b58a:g:igYAAOSwvPRZZPsb
9. Bought a set of strings of Mick - great price, great service.
10. I'd love to have it - just need my land paddle* to sell on Ebay ! *It's not a B2B - it's a big skateboard and stick to punt it !
11. Hi, What's the action on it like and how chunky is the neck ? Regards, Ed.
12.
£499 BIN for a SR with big singles? sounds like a score! http://www.ebay.co.u...isAAOSw9ENZmVNV
Go on you know it makes sense !
13. Back to SR's - I put flats on the 700 before and it sounded horrible ! Took them straight off.
14.
I think the SRC6 is a baritone guitar rather than a proper bass. That's an incredible price for a 1400! You left out the Bongo from your list!
How could I forget - it was the only one that ever had red and black strings (at the same time ) ! Saw a new one going for £1850 before - remember I got it from ebay brand new for £800 - if only the body had been a bit smaller .
15. Did anybody buy one ? Just came across them on ebay - the body looks nice but headstock looks horrible.Don't think I'd part with £500 for one as it would be dffcult to resell. £300 would be nearer the mark for me. 20mm string spacing on a shortscale seems wrong.
16.
http://www.dawsons.c...tar-walnut-flat At that price I'm not sure it would be up to much but I've not tried one.
Already had one and sold it ! I put flats on it and it was a bit weird. I've been looking at the src6 crossover https://www.thomann.de/gb/ibanez_src6_wnf.htm but it looks like the same ugly walnut finish as the cheap one in your link. The SR1400 MLG is down to £899 in Andertons although they aren't expecting delivery until October.
17. Had this bass longer than all of my custom stuff and its in excellent condition (9.5 out of 10). It cost me £1200 when I bought it new. Contoured for comfort, yet making a definitive style statement, the Lodestone Primal Artist Bass combines traditional and modern materials to steer bass development into an exciting new era. Carefully selected tone woods are used in construction – alder for the body, Indian rosewood for the fingerboard and hard rock maple for the slim, narrow and smooth neck, which features a 2-way adjustable truss rod. The contoured body design enables funk players unprecedented access beneath the strings for dramatic pulls, while the body cutaways combine with a sculpted neck joint to provide easy access to every fret. Laidback Headstock Another important Lodestone breakthrough is the LaidBack headstock which angles the tuners backwards, making them much more accessible for comfortable, convenient tuning. This radical design also facilitates an optimized string path, further ensuring the integrity of the instrument.(Similar to a T bass) Ceramic bridge saddles The new Primal Pro 4-string active bass uses precision-engineered ceramic bridge saddles. This ultra-hard material (as used in the braking systems of racing cars) enhances the transmission of string vibration through the body of the instrument, increasing clarity, dynamics and sustain. Sonic performance is enhanced yet further by the use of individual custom bridge pieces which are set deep into the body of the instrument, and dual carbon fiber rods which run the length of the neck to eliminate dead spots. Pickups EMG Hyperactive pickups are used in a classic J configuration, and are amplified by Lodestone high-output, low noise active circuit, with controls provided for volume (x2), bass and treble. Accessories High quality, padded gig bag Collection from Liverpool preferred but can post at buyers risk and expense.
