Did anybody buy one ? Just came across them on ebay - the body looks nice but headstock looks horrible.Don't think I'd part with £500 for one as it would be dffcult to resell. £300 would be nearer the mark for me. 20mm string spacing on a shortscale seems wrong.
Already had one and sold it ! I put flats on it and it was a bit weird. I've been looking at the src6 crossover https://www.thomann.de/gb/ibanez_src6_wnf.htm but it looks like the same ugly walnut finish as the cheap one in your link. The SR1400 MLG is down to £899 in Andertons although they aren't expecting delivery until October.

Had this bass longer than all of my custom stuff and its in excellent condition (9.5 out of 10). It cost me £1200 when I bought it new. Contoured for comfort, yet making a definitive style statement, the Lodestone Primal Artist Bass combines traditional and modern materials to steer bass development into an exciting new era. Carefully selected tone woods are used in construction – alder for the body, Indian rosewood for the fingerboard and hard rock maple for the slim, narrow and smooth neck, which features a 2-way adjustable truss rod. The contoured body design enables funk players unprecedented access beneath the strings for dramatic pulls, while the body cutaways combine with a sculpted neck joint to provide easy access to every fret. Laidback Headstock Another important Lodestone breakthrough is the LaidBack headstock which angles the tuners backwards, making them much more accessible for comfortable, convenient tuning. This radical design also facilitates an optimized string path, further ensuring the integrity of the instrument.(Similar to a T bass) Ceramic bridge saddles The new Primal Pro 4-string active bass uses precision-engineered ceramic bridge saddles. This ultra-hard material (as used in the braking systems of racing cars) enhances the transmission of string vibration through the body of the instrument, increasing clarity, dynamics and sustain. Sonic performance is enhanced yet further by the use of individual custom bridge pieces which are set deep into the body of the instrument, and dual carbon fiber rods which run the length of the neck to eliminate dead spots. Pickups EMG Hyperactive pickups are used in a classic J configuration, and are amplified by Lodestone high-output, low noise active circuit, with controls provided for volume (x2), bass and treble. Accessories High quality, padded gig bag Collection from Liverpool preferred but can post at buyers risk and expense.

My ebay SR700 arrived today - 2 days ahead of schedule and it is absolutely immaculate. Set up really nicely - really low action and no buzz. Nice leather strap in the case with gold straplocks and the 'proper' hard case is unmarked and still had the plastic coating on the SDGR label. The Bartolini's are a different sound to the Nordy's - I don't like them as much - not as defined a sound and a little warmer but they are crying out for a set of flatwounds. I wish Optima made gold flatwounds I love their rounds. Probably go for Deep Talkin' or a set of Chromes.Might just be the best value bass I've bought ! Is there a short scale SR - I'd love to set one up piccolo ?

Yes you've hit the nail on the head with the Nordy sound- its really clear and articulate . I was noodling some chordal stuff last night with a bit of chorus and reverb and it sounded amazing.(despite my playing) . I love the EQ on it too - really usable .

Cheers Al - yes 2 in a week The NT is just the colour I think -Natural as opposed to MLG - Mojito Lime Green etc. Yes I've owned a ludicrous amount of basses and would be in a lot less debt if I'd discovered these in the beginning ! As soon as I picked up Burnos 1300 I knew it was right for me too. Can't believe I've missed them all this time.

Got my SR1400 NT yesterday and it is pure class - set up to perfection straight out of the case and a steal from Andertons at £899. Liked the neck so much I bought a mint SR700 from ebay last night
To the op: I wouldn't say you were missing out - they sound exactly like a regular 34er. But they do feel different at the low end. I've got small hands and I find them way easier to get around the first few frets - they''re very comfortable for me to play. But other than this I wouldn't say it was necessary to have one.
So sell me yours at a vastly reduced price

I managed to preorder an Ibanez SR1400 for £899 last week when both the MLG and NT variants were at this price for a few days . They are now up to £999 and £1099 respectively with the same retailer - I asked if I could change the bass to the other colour but was told I would have to pay the increased price if I did as the suppliers had increased their prices. I'm awaiting stock so I hope I actually receive it as it seems I've been lucky getting in just ahead of the hike..

Cheers Paul, I'll give the blue stones a listen - I like that track.

Generally you can do much better online price wise - the Ibanez SR1400 due to arrive this week was £200 cheaper online than in my local Dawsons and I'm sure I can set it up much better than they can( I did ask if they would price match and they couldn't). If you buy online you are hopefully getting a new out of the box guitar ,not something played by 100's of punters which leads to the inevitable minor blemishes. Just be sure to give it a really good once over to sure there are no paint blemishes or neck pocket cracks which can kill any resale value when you want to sell it when you're gassing for something else down the line.

On holiday in France earlier in the year, one of the music channels played a track by Kaleo which really got my attention, I downloaded the album on Spotify and listened to it right through and put it straight back on. I've heard bits and pieces of them in this country but they don't seem to get much coverage - Ed Sheeran doesn't seem to leave room for anybody else ! A/B is definitely the best album I've heard this year and I can't wait to see them in Manchester in October. Any other fans ? The album had bluesy rock tracks like the first vid below and some really cool acoustic stuff. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HC6QJsxRypQ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FNwgOkl5nRY&list=PL_UAk-871kKCOFwn_0fCnbkfkBmTTiaQY

I tried Burno's 1300 earlier in the week and it was absolutely amazing - loved the neck dimensions and the Nordy pups.Everything about it just felt and sounded right.Being a shiny bass guy I've just ordered myself a 1400 and a set of gold optima's to set it off.

I need to sell my Mensinger Cazpar 5A - Active 5 string short scale(30") . The bass has a spalted maple top and is in mint condition. Adrian set up the bass for me in piccolo tuning E-C but it can easily be changed back to conventional bass tuning with new strings and a nut adjustment. Pickups: Domanski in wooden covers Electronics: active 2-band Glockenklang - volume (active/passive push/pull switch), balance, bass, treble/passive tone blend Check out some Cazpar vids here https://www.public-p...sses/men-cazpar http://www.notreble....nsinger-cazpar/ The bass would cost 1200 euros new and there would now be a 3 to 4 month wait for it. I would prefer collection from Liverpool but can discuss postage at buyers expense if anyone is interested. In terms of trades I have an open mind - needs a nice thin neck ( IIbanez SR like) and must be mint !
