Hi all, I've just purchased a Mensinger custom Cazpar bass built by Adrian Marusczyk and it truly is the best bass I have ever owned, so much so within the week I have ordered a second one.Adrian is based in Germany and came to bassday looking for any UK outlets for his basses which seemed very well received.Just wondering if you guys have any suggestions ? The basses truly are ridiculously good for the price.

Got it strung E to C and it works really well. I can't wait to get an E to C piccolo. Yes Adrian seems really cool

I've seen the Aspiration Elite going for 400 new and they are a steal at that price but trying to shift a used one is like trying to sell the plague.

No not the best song the Stone Roses ever made , I have finally found my ultimate bass ! Over the last few years I have bought a ridiculous amount of basses searching for the holy grail, lots were great(all of the Shukers), some were terrible (Tanglewood Canyon 3 )but I have finally found a cure for my GAS (if you know what I mean !) Last week whilst perusing the basses for sale section of our site I saw Scooby was selling a Mensinger Cazpar Active 5 string. I'd never heard of these instruments before, but it looked really nice so I took the plunge and picked it up for just over 700. It arrived and it blew me away. The workmanship is awesome, the balance is amazing and the variety of usable tones from it are better than anything I have ever owned(at any price) ,so much so I put a load of guitars on ebay immediately to fund a second which I am having set up as a piccolo bass. If anybody is in the market for a new instrument I would definitely recommend checking them out.The Cazpar is a short scale but there are other basses made by Adrian Maruszczyk which look equally sexy. In terms of value for money I haven't seen much to touch them especially when the trend for the well known luthiers is currently in hiking up the prices. Check them out... Bought Pete's Cazpar 5 and I can't attest to his sanity for wanting to sell it , but he certainly gave me a great price and service and I wouldn't hesitate to deal with him again.

Bought Steve's Gio which was exactly as described, brilliantly wrapped and shipped really quickly. 100% recommended !

HI Kev, Don' t want to compromise a potential sale but it was less than this with an almost new hard case,as new Levy's leather strap, TM Stevens lead and a tuning fork !. It was badly listed on ebay , it only said bass guitar in the listing header no mention of Spector and said collection only although the seller was really accommodating and allowed me to arrange my own courier. It was an absolute bargain for what I paid but I fancy a fretless so this will probably be the one of the ones to go as I like 4 strings better.

Do you think the condition for its age would make it more valuable ?

I think I have reached critical mass (again !) with the number of guitars and basses owned so about to have a clear out. I picked up a mint amberburst Spector Q5 pro for what I believed to be a very good price recently (it is an absolutely fantastic bass -I like it more than my Spectorcore !)but just wondered what would be a reasonable price to expect for it in the current market ?

Hi AP, I've just been looking into short scale basses too (just bought an ibanez gio in our basses for sale section !) but came across a few other contenders ; Squier Vintage Modded Jaguar or Mustang, Gretsch Junior Jet, Cort Action Junior.There is a Dean as well. Think if I was buying new I would have gone for the Gretsch Regards, Ed

Did anybody notice the Fodera singlecut being played by Jools' bassplayer. It sounded awesome on every song !

Got a CTM-15 being delivered tomorrow so interested to hear how this problem pans out.

It finally arrived yesterday after some doubt I was actually going to receive it . It is an absolute beauty, finish is really nice, the setup is sublime with a set of Chromes on it and a wide variety of tones. For the money it is one of the best basses I've ever purchased.
