  1. I just wanted them to do what they said. They are still listing the in stock black PJB as will be delivered on Monday so it isn't a stock or reporting error, it's deception. If they had said it would be several business days before dispatch (as they do on other items) I would have just bought the amp from GAK or another UK seller. I kicked off the claim early knowing it will take some time to resolve. If the amp arrives before xmas I will cancel the claim but I'm not optimistic having spoken to them. If it ends well I won't leave the 1* review they currently deserve.
  2. I ordered a PJB Double 4 on Tuesday which was in stock and the website said it would be delivered today. Order also confirmed today as delivery date. Checked tracking today and status says advised. Finally managed to talk to somebody who said the item is still in their warehouse in The Netherlands . Fuming ! - unlikely to get it before Christmas now and completely misled by the co.uk website and UK contact address on the site. Would I also have to pay duty as its coming from Europe ? Initiated a Paypal claim as looking at Trustpilot they seem to be dreadful. If only I'd done that before ordering.
  3. Similar experience - I'd bought at American professional strat for £1000+ at the time which I was really pleased with then a Squier came up locally on ebay for £40 - I bought it as an upgrade project but tonally it just sounded much better than the Fender as it was - cleaned up it was almost mint despite being quite an old one. I do love my Squiers.
  4. I spent a few hours noodling in a premium guitar shop on Saturday as it was really quiet and I could just pull things of the hangars and try them at will. The thing that struck me the most was what poor quality some of the new gear was - I was trying Fender's with bent pots grating on the pickguard, guitars with virtually unplayable actions and crackling pots and generally the quality of the instrument in no way reflected the price. The dearest thing I played was a Maybach da vinci bass at £3300 - it looked nice - similar to an orchestral instrument and was custom shop - but the Vintage brand jazz I bought off ebay for £200 was actually set up better. I was expecting to be blown away by it but that just didn't happen - I left empty handed and disappointed. Maybe I'm just not a good enough player to realise the tonal nuances of the instruments , maybe we are just being ripped off or the premium we pay for big name brands is just a guarantee of gettting a reasonable resale price which certainly doesn't happen on the customs.
  5. I picked up a lovely used Fender Elite strat over the weekend which was immaculate apart from one blemish which i didn't spot till I'd got home.( don't think it would have been a deal breaker.) Anyway it's a bit of a strange one as it seems to be beneath the clear coat which feels perfectly smooth : Is there anything I could use to disguise it ? It's not a big enough deal to sand it out etc.
  6. I traded a brand new Fender SRV strat + £200 for a Primal Artist when they first came out - worst deal I've ever done. I've tried to sell it on numerous occasions at a vastly reduced price but never get any takes. Its a lovely looking bass but has the worst shielding of any instrument I've ever known. Certainly has the EMG's in this one.The inlays remind me of prawns !
  7. I have been buying basses and guitars recently just because I like the colour / woods - it is truly ridiculous . I bought a Zoom R12 multitrack this week only to find an equivalent Tascam in my guitar 'Pandoras box' that I'd forgotten I had ). And now there is an Antigua Telecaster locally on FB marketplace that is calling to me....
  8. Best - Retrovibe L'il Richard bass( FB Marketplace but a basschatter) Worst - Donner Octave pedal from Amazon.
  9. I completely agree - its not the same thing at all and I'm assuming you aren't getting AI entries in the 'proper' composition challenge. I was just suggesting it as a separate bit of fun.
  10. It would be nice to have an AI composition challenge on here but it doesn't look like many people are using it yet.
  11. I've been having great fun using Udio software to generate songs from my own or copilot assisted lyrics. The results can be awful but some are quite impressive. As this evolves you can see how it is going to change the way music is made ,whether this is for better or worse I'm not sure, but it is sure cool having a proper singer belting out my lyrics given I only play on my own at home. Here's a couple of samples - they aren't Bohemian Rhapsody by any means but took less than 5 minutes to create and not too shabby (IMHO 😀). Embers of Desire.mp4 In Unity We Rise.mp4
  12. I'd like to know what she thinks about AI in music , how it will change the future and what she and the innovative artists she's worked with would make of it.
  13. I quite like Ebay - I've have had less issues buying and selling on it than on any other forum so think this is great news.
  14. Definitely the nicest Alusonic I've seen - I was so tempted to buy this when Bass Direct had it.
  15. Should come with a car rather than a case at that price .
  16. Doesn't that make it completely pointless then ? 🤔
  17. I didn't know they did that - I thought it was just rubbing off paint. - that makes it even worse than I'd imagined.
  18. I agree - I so love some of the Sandberg models ( The black Ida Neilson in particular) but just wish they'd leave the sander alone.
  19. I was hoping they'd be on the Salt and Tar in Bootle - it was good enough for Tom Jones and Status Quo 😁
  20. I had one too and completely agree. I sold it as I needed the space back this and the cab took, but up there with the biggest regrets musically ever. Good luck with the sale.
  21. I bought 2 , upgraded them and sold them on . They were great for the money and some upgrade practice.
  22. Looks familiar - there have been so many - I've lost track !
  23. Not Paul McCartney ! After the 10,000+ people in the queue had got their tickets all that was left were some at £444 each. I wouldn't pay that if he played in my house !
  24. Anybody familiar with these https://baumguitars.com/category/bass/ They look really nice.
