Space between neck heel and body.
edstraker123 replied to edstraker123's topic in Repairs and Technical
Yes it was a reputable buyer. I felt ashamed for selling it to him like this tbh. I contacted Maton who said the UK distributor would contact me but nothing from them so far. I'll give it the rest of the weekend and then get back in touch. On closer inspection there is more wrong than the gap - it is almost like the neck has moved a couple of mm to so created a small overhang. 😞 -

Do you think Maton should replace the guitar given how little use its had and its cost ? -
I sold a guitar on ebay and the buyer has returned it as there is a space between the neck heel and body. The guitar is a quality Maton acoustic, has been stored in its case and has probably seen less than 20 hours of use. Googling I can't get a sense of whether this is just a cosmetic issue due to temperature or humidity or a more series structural problem. Anybody got any thoughts? ( Sorry for posting a guitar question !)

Love the resin accent too .

I was just considering selling mine as I'm a bit overloaded with basses currently but then I played it again and the neck is absolutely to die for . If only they did it in a short scale.

I've wanted one of these for ages but whenever they've come up the ones I've seen have always been a bit to dear for the condition they are in. They look like they should cost £400ish (unless it's the white one !)!

The Short Scale Bass Appreciation Society!
edstraker123 replied to Baloney Balderdash's topic in Bass Guitars
My second Vox has just arrived - a black 2s - think I like the look of it even more than the red 1H . Set up was fine but I did note it had been done by the same QA inspector as the first ( Luis). Hope your replacement is a good one fretmeister as they are definitely a cracking little bass if you get a good one. I bought a Donner strat off ebay this week and had a similar problem - an unplayable neck, its a lovely looking thing in coral pink. I wanted to send it back and get a replacement and they've just told me to keep it and they'll send me another ! Now I have one to fettle with for free ! -

Got a 1H Starstream today - for £199 it was a no brainer. It arrived and was set up really well. I oiled the fretboard and gave it a polish and will put new strings on it , but it's a perfect bass for noodling on the couch given its weight. I liked it so much I ordered a 2S and was considering a third to set up as a piccolo or as an upgrade project. -

Completely agree with TheGreek - bought it for looks but was completely underwhelmed. I bought a used Aria Tab66 for a fraction of the price and it is so much better.

I picked up a lovely SWB-1 off ebay yesterday and the action is playable but a bit high for my tastes. Looking at the neck it has too much relief so I was hoping a truss rod adjustment would sort it out. The rod is accessed at the neck end of the bass and looking from here I turned the allen key clockwise, but things seem to get looser rather than tighter. there is more resistance turning the key anticlockwise. Have i misinterpreted the righty -tighty rule ? Anybody got any thoughts or experience of the Chowny's ? I have in my head that Maruszycks worked differently and wondered if the Chowny's were the same.

Here's my three - got flats on the SWB pro and rounds on the ACG which is just an absolute masterpiece. The baby in the middle is an RMI Boomslang nano which is strung piccolo and great fun to play. -
A Lovely S1 Hamer Cruisebass.

Don't think I'd pay £1.20 with that action ! -
Completely agree with all of the comments above. I bought Claire's Mod Duo pedal and everything was perfect. Thanks Claire.

Bought Luke's ACG Krell and it's truly one of the best basses I've ever owned.Luke wanted to ensure that the bass was packaged appropriately for delivery which meant I had to wait a bit longer than usual , but it was definitely worth it. Recommended BC'er !
