  1. I visited the store a few years ago after convincing myself I needed a 5 string. Really chilled staff who seemed genuinely happy to help. On the back wall was a brand new old stock Attitude LTD II that apparently "no one ever looks at 'cos the attitude 3 is right next to it." I'd have been happy to pay the price on the ticket but the lovely chap said if I bought it he'd knock a big chunk off the price. So I did. They didn't have the case for it so they gave me a really good gig bag to take it home in. I didn't even notice that it had been autographed until I got it home.
  2. I use QLC+ software (free) on an old microsoft Surface go. For the dmx interface I went with the cheapest Enttec Open Dmx USB that I could find on Ebay. The software advises against that interface but in 6 years I have never had an issue with it other than operator error. We run 2 Chauvet wash FX Hex's up on stands and 4 Stairville led bar 240's in various positions around the stage. The software is fairly easy to use and there are a lot of videos out there that helped me a lot. I have set up basic chases and various "animations" that allow all 6 lights to cycle together within a set colour range. Currently running it all from what the software calls a "virtual console". This is basically a screen with buttons on it that you use to recall the various settings you have set up. The Surface Go has a touch screen so I try to remember to hit a different button at the start of each song. It can also accept midi to trigger button presses, tap tempo and other good stuff. You can download it for free and have a play with it before you spend any money, the built in DMX Monitor is a very basic 2d visualiser that allows you to lay your fixtures out in a window and watch the chases / animations etc
  3. That would be Malcolm! He is on Facebook - MD Basses I picked one of these up just before Christmas and they are much nicer than the standard tubular thingies. They dont take up as much room either as they hold the basses a lot more vertical than my old metal one. That being said I am not in the slightest bit worried about any accidents, they are perfectly safe.
  4. I have been gassing for a Dingwall since early April but the sensible side of my brain said "nope, no gigs, no income, no way" Shortly after Christmas I decided that I don't need that sort of negativity in my life The nice chaps at Bass Direct sent me a lovely Amethyst burst Combustion 5. I haven't played one before and its the first 5 that I have owned but I figure that I have plenty of time to learn it. Lefty, They are indeed made in China but they then go back to Canada where they are taken apart, checked, set up and shipped out. Up to this point the best bass I owned was a MIJ Geddy Lee Jazz, I would say the build quality of this Dingwall is quite a bit higher. And as for the sound.... stick it in Serial mode and roll the treble down a tiny bit, small boost to bass and mids and try to stop smiling.
  5. I really really tried to get usb midi to work between the C4 and the stomp. The only way I could manage it was with a midi host that they both plugged into. I used a spare raspberry pi i had sitting in a drawer. https://neuma.studio/rpi-as-midi-host.html and that got the 2 of them talking together. The next bit was to shuffle all my patches onto 001, 002, 003, 004 etc and then shuffle whatever I wanted to correspond with a patch on the c4 into the relevant place. The C4 counts from 000 and the stomp counts from 001 so a nice excel spreadsheet saved me from going cross-eyed. As long as you have turned usb midi on in global settings on the stomp, when you select a patch it sends out that patch number as the PC midi message so patch 003 tells the C4 to change to patch 002. This would be fine for home use but there is no way I would trust it live (remember live?) Unfortunately I couldn't find a commercial product that wasn't really expensive so sadly the C4 had to go back. It makes some absolutely wonderful sounds and the work that Quatscmacher is doing and sharing on neuro is brilliant but I couldn't justify a Morningstar or the disaster area thingy to go with it for 3 or 4 songs. £249 for the C4 and another £220 for the Morningstar C6 is almost a third of the way to a Dingwall!
  6. Me too Happy Birthday to me!
  7. mrtcat, Thanks for the piccy, I have ordered the G75 and for some reason I had convinced myself that the receiver couldn't go on the pedalboard. I will have to test the IEM transmitter in the rack. It already has a wireless router and 2 other receivers. Thanks for all your help C.
  8. Hi All, I was a good boy, I did my homework and I read the whole of the IEM thread. Following the advice on there I chose the KZ in ears and the Behringer beltpack and have been really happy for 12 months or so. Absolutely loving not lugging a cab all over the place. Bass into HX Stomp, stomp into X18 and X18 back into my head. Marvellous. Now the gas rears its head and I am looking at going wireless for both bass and IEM. We have a run of 12 gigs coming up on a fairly big stage and I really want the freedom to be able to wander around a bit. I tried wandering with the wired iem and it must have looked like someone tried to pull me off stage with a big hook. Definitely not the look I was going for. So my question is this, with no amp or cab behind me where do I put my wireless receiver ( not pedalboard sized) and my iem transmitter? We always set up with the pa rack on the opposite side of the stage from me so it cant go there and I am really not happy about having it all on the floor either. Any and all suggestions are very welcome! Thanks Chris.
  9. Afternoon all, I have been looking at the b3n and have a couple of questions for any owners out there... When using the +rhythmguitar patch is it possible to pan the bass to the left and the added "guitar" to the right? And in a similar vein when using the split is it possible to pan each side of the split to separate outputs? Thanks Chris.
  10. I bought a pedal from Ben, really nice chap, a pleasure to deal with. Thanks fella! C
  11. Thanks for the help I am tinkering with an analog delay 300ms, 6 repeats 80% mix and a teensy bit of chorus just to liven things up a bit still need to work out how to muddy it all up for the middle "One of these days i'm gonna cut you into little peices" bit starting rehersals on it on sunday, will let y'all know how it works out
  12. Hi, I am trying to sort the delay settings for "One of These Days" (Pulse dvd) Being very new to the world of effects i am not entirely sure what i am hearing. It sounds to me like there are 2 delays going on here. Please help! Ta Chris
