1. I don't have experience of using the Bass Expansion with an amp but I do on the computer and I can tell you that the quality, realism and dynamics of the models is miles behind Amplitube and Guitar Rig. Line 6 haven't kept up with the times.
2. Was I the only one bothered by the whole of the female South-american population working in the EHX factory? Funny sometimes in forums there will be someone criticising those who buy pedals or basses made in China because yes they're cheap but at the expense of low wages and poor working conditions so I prefer to buy made in the US of A. I too had this naive idea of EHX pedals being made in New York by New Yorkers being paid fair wages (similar to what you see in Warwick's german factory videos for example). Sadly, the fact they're all South-American women makes me doubt that. I suppose Tech 21 will be no different. And how can the pedals say "Made in NYC" if the guts come assembled and tested from the 3rd world and those ladies simply assemble them in the boxes, add knobs switches and jacks and do the final testing?
3. Wise decision Have it since it came out and haven't found a better alternative in its price point yet.
4. Yes, TRS should work. Let us know how it goes, I'm thinking of trying the same combination. How are you finding the tracking of the BSY600? And do you find it sucks tone when not on?
5. George bought my VT Bass, all went well. Cheers!
6. I'm not sure if your trade option helps your cause
7. All sold.
8. I've decided to give this a go after all but it seems no one has stock of it yet. Bugger.
9. Flashback x4 sold pending.
10. Aaaand due to unexpected events the VT Bass is back up for sale, not trade.
11. Very tempted by this. Replacing my Pitchblack by the same tuner + effects if I need them in the same board space, + amp sim for practice in my drummer's basement to the board + rhythm + metronome, what's not to like. Just hope it doesn't suck tone. I'll read the manual now and if it doesn't disappoint somehow, might get it today! Edit: a little disappointing that there's no word on how some effects will track on bass (synths, octavers, filters, pitch-shifters). No bass synth is a shame, Zoom unit does a pretty good one IMO. They mention conservatively as 'for bass' a compressor, distortions, amps and cabs and a defretter. Doesn't seem like you can tap tempo and doesn't seem like you can have delay trails, I think this is a deal breaker for me.
12. Flashback x4 now £140, last price before eBay, great for looping with loop level and undo + 3 delay memories + 4 toneprint memories.
13. http://www.ehx.com/products/nano-big-muff-pi Great stuff, now can we have the bass version with a blend control so I can reclaim some board space from my Bass Big Muff Deluxe!
14. Just an update, the VT Bass is now trade only, will take a Bass Driver DI for it (or Para Driver, maybe). Flashback x4 looper+delay still for sale.
15. Bump.
16. Tech 21 Sansamp VT Bass v2: SOLD Only tested it at home a few times and once with the band when I bought it months ago, then I put it in the tin and it's been there since. Absolutely as new in tin with instructions and sticker. TC Electronic Flashback x4 delay and looper: SOLD I bought this used last week but it's too much for my needs. It has the receipt from 6th October (!!!) so I suppose you could still use nearly the whole warranty! As new in box with USB cable, power supply and sticker.
17.
Behringer US600 does a fine octave up (amongst loads of other features). Tracks very well (in all modes in my experience); as with seemingly all Behringers it sound practically identical to the pedal its cloned from (Boss PS-5). Digital sounding (especially 100% wet), but works great with distortion in front of it. IMO they're nowhere near as flaky build quality wise as they're made out to be, and can be had for about £30. Or just get a guitar, play everything up one octave...
Thanks, considering one of these right now, read good things about its tracking...
18. I'm interested in the Mooer Pitch Box but I hear the notes come out a bit warbly... What about the Boss pedals or the Behringer clones, are they more 'steady'? Anyone has any experience with them?
19. Would like a simple octave-up pedal (no mix with dry sound needed), I know these always sound a bit weird but it's going into a fuzz so no big deal... I suppose the whammy is the best? Anything compact that leaves the wet sound only and tracks well on bass?
20. Hey, probably a stupid question but I got a Flashback X4 and was thinking of, for the looper, plugging a mic into it to record some vocal beatbox loops and then plug the bass in and play over them. Since the mic signal is different level from the bass's, could I cause any damage to the pedal and/or my amp and cab?
21. Thanks guys, all good options.
22.
Nope, well not with most pedals anyway. The switch is a bypass, so letting go of the switch bypasses the effect resulting in no trails.
But when you set the internal switch on the Flashback to buffered, trails continue after you press off (as I understand). So the internal switch being set that way, could the footswitch not simple be changed to momentary and it would work?
23. Man that's all too much work... Would it be possible to mod some delay pedal, like the Flashback for example, to have a momentary switch instead of latch?
24.
That would give you repeats only while the momentary switch was held down, so you wouldn't get the trails once you let go.
Of course, silly me...
25.
this is EXACTLY what im after in a delay pedal as well, momentary with trails.
I think it would make it much more useable for bassists... I suppose a possible way to this besides modding the pedal's switch, would be to have the pedal on a loop with momentary switch?
