1. Further reduced, now £210 each!
2.
With international shipping costs it would quickly add up to almost the price of a new one.
Sorry, didn't notice you were abroad!
3. Dave is just a pleasure to deal with. I went to his house for a trade but as soon a I got home I realised I wasn't happy and had changed my mind (not his fault at all, item was fine, just a matter of my own taste). I immediately contacted Dave asking if he minded reverting the trade and he was cool with it. We actually ended up agreeing on a part sale which made everybody happy. I guess he could have made things difficult if he wanted, but instead he was a total gentleman about it and the result was nobody was feeling miserable at the end Thx Dave!
4. I have custom ACS ER 20 filters. They used to be good for a very noisy band, but my most recent band was quieter (sometimes drummer played with straws and we played mostly pubs) and I just couldn't get on with them as they attenuated too much. I'd either not use them or leave them half-out of my ears, which would still cause a bit of ringing... So I'd recommend 20 for very loud, noisy rock bands, but 15 to play pubs/functions/weddings.
5. Reduced, won't reduce it further, would rather keep them as spares. Will go on eBay in a few days.
6.
I took delivery of my Reidmar yesterday. Only played it through headphones yet but man... I love that modern sizzle. Very inspiring. Not 100% true what I just said beause I did play it for like a minute with my Neo 110 but it was late and I live in an apartment so... I do think that I should probably let the Neo 110 go and get a CL112 or so. The 110 isn't really a cab that you'd want to use alone while I do think a single CL112 would likely do fine on many occasions.
I'm selling 2 new CL112s if you're interested, the link is 5 posts above.
7. Hi there, that's a rough estimation of the exchange rate, from experience you'll likely end up paying about £270 at least, also being charged a percentage for foreign currency transaction by your bank or credit card issuer. I'm basing my price on the best UK price I can find, which is £280-ish, so not too different from Thomman. The cabs are absolutely new and you'll save more than £100 on both. Also, I may have just been unlucky, but from 3 deals with Thomann I'm very weary of dealing with them again. One was an amp rack case, not much could go wrong with that, but I had to send back an amp to be repaired due to a faulty speakon jack and it came back with BOTH jacks faulty, also a Warwick bass I bought arrived with a massive unsightly 'bleached-looking' stain on the fretboard and had to be replaced, both times this involved lengthy packaging, shipping and waiting processes with no replacement item provided, so in my view, not worth whatever little money I saved. Two out of three gone wrong is a pretty bad average! Lowest price really is £450 for both. Where are you based, if you're near London or Essex maybe we could make it so you wouldn't pay shipping...
8.
Hi, can you please confirm the reduced price?
Sorry, don't think I follow, what do you mean? I was selling for £250 each, now it's £225 each, so 50 quid less on the pair than before... Is that what you were asking? EDIT: I think I understood the reason for your question now, will make it clearer above.
9. The Reidmar is now sold. Apologies to everyone who PM'd me asking for first dibs but due to unforeseen circumstances I decided to let it go. Many thanks for your interest. Cabs still available, now with a reduced price of £225 each collected or add shipping..
10.
Hi there. I'm thinking about buying this amp. The thing is that I want to keep the weight at minimum so I just want to buy one cab, now the problem is that most cabs (cheaper ones ) are 8 ohms and I might have not enough power (125W @ 8 ohm). I play mostly jazz and jazz fusion, do you think I would have enough with those (EBS) 125W? Any advice on choosing a cab? Thanks very much.
Don't be fooled by the rating, the amp is much louder than the wattage would indicate. I haven't gigged with mine but based on the fact that it's louder at 8ohm than my previous 350W SWR amp at 4ohm, and I gigged extensively with that one (rock covers and originals): - for smaller rooms, pubs, bars, etc, you'll be absolutely fine with one cab, don't even need to go to the PA - for bigger rooms where there's a proper tall stage (like function rooms at wedding venues), if you're going to the PA you'll be fine with one cab just acting as your stage monitor, if you're not going to the PA I'd be more confortable with 2 cabs to fill the whole room. If however your band is a quieter than a rock band, one cab might be fine too. Harder to say really... I'm currently selling my Reidmar and two CL112 cabs, barely used (only at home) and still in warranty, happy to split the rig and sell you just one cab with the amp if you want. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/185451-ebs-classic-line-112-x2-ebs-reidmar-as-new-warranty-fs-trade-for-5-or-6-string-bass/
11.
thanks, yeah I just spoke to EBS who said they're about 39lbs, and will correct they're website asap. Basically, I can see myself doing the odd trip on the tube with a cab, and I know this will be a mission with anything, but I at least want something do-able, I think these may just be a tad heavy...even though they're pretty light! I'll have a think
Yeah, with this or any small cab in my view it's only really doable and practical if you put it on a trolley, and in that case this weight or a little lighter makes little to no difference, since you're pulling it on wheels
12.
Do you know how heavy these cabs are? the website says 17,5 kg / 33 lbs........but 17.5k actually = 38lbs. :s. Can anyone shed some light on this?
I've just weighed one and got 17.0 Kg, so about 37.5 lbs. They're super compact btw, I brought them from the shop in the boot of my 2000 Punto, they fit without need to put the seats down
13. Potential trade fell through, still available, happy to sell just a single cab if that's what you're after.
14. I've had a few interesting offers so this weekend is likely last chance if you want to get this.
15. I got these cables with two cabs I've just bought new but I don't need them, hence I'm selling them unused. They have 4-pole speakon plugs and are meant for bi-amping, but will work full-range as well. They look badass in black and chrome colours and have Gallien-Krueger written on the cable. They are about 2.5m long. This is the only place where I can see them for sale in the UK, costing minimum £42.85 each shipped. http://www.gear4musi...01RB-2001RB/JGX I'll sell them for [s]£35[/s] £30 each shipped. New and unused. PM if interested. Thanks
16. Details updated on 1st post, my preference now is to trade for a 5 or 6 string bass, but still up for selling too of course.
17. Yup, here's a photo of mine.
18.
They are.
Cheers mate. Shame on me for not knowing heh? I'll post a cover-less photo tonight.
19.
Are the cabs front ported? Can't quite see. Cheers Si
I'm not sure now but I think they're front ported, will take the front off one and confirm later tonight.
20.
Hiya mate, How would you describe the sound of the rig? Ash
The head is modern and clean, super transparent and focused, super fast attack, loads of definition, you can hear every little thing you do. Leads to your playing becoming more effortless as everything you play even lightly can be heard so well. Flat EQ really sounds flat (or flatter than most amps) and the EQ is very powerful giving you a lot of versatility. If you increase gain you get a bit of drive which sounds pretty good too (not as organic as the drive in the Aguilar TH500 for example, but quite pleasant). The compressor is very effective and made me put my MXR Bass Comp away. I'm only selling because I've been playing valves for 10 years and just couldn't get used to solid state tone. The cabs sound darker and offer a good counterpoint to the liveliness of the amp, balancing the whole thing up. Old-school sounding and with a very well balanced tweeter you don't feel the need to attenuate at all (as is usually the case with EBS). I think they sound a bit like some MarkBass cabs to my ears on the lows and mids, but with a much better tweeter. You're welcome to come over and try it out, since you're in London.
21. Now considering trades for heads (not cabs), basses, or for quality effects (+ cash when necessary) if you take the whole rig or the cabs. PM with what you have to offer.
22. I too am not happy with dealing with Samuel and after reading this thread I'm surprised people still buy or sell stuff from him... I'll definitely not buy or sell anything on here again before checking this section... I sold him an EBS Multidrive. The deal was £75 paid by PayPal marked as a gift so I wouldn't pay fees. Upon receiving the PayPal payment confirmation email, I posted the pedal the next day, only to find later that he HADN'T marked it as a gift, so PayPal took £2.75 in fees. I asked him about it and he said he was sure he had marked it as a gift and was going to see what had happened and solve it for me (pedal hadn't arrived yet). Once the pedal arrived, any subsequent communications went pretty much ignored. It's only £2.75, but that was pretty much the postage cost, and I like that when stuff is agreed upon, people stick to it. Therefore, my recommendation from my case and from much more serious ones above, is don't deal with this guy.
