1.
TBH, I think you'll probably need to spend a while "readjusting" to the tone of your new rig. I was at a similiar point as you about 18 months ago when I got rid of my EBS HD350/Proline 410/Proline 115 rig for no other reason than I was getting cheesed off with the weight. Other than that, I'd been happy for years having done countless gigs with it. The TC rig I'd replaced it with sounded WAY different and for a while I felt I'd made a big mistake. I hadn't of course, I just needed a while to readjust to not hearing my tone as I'd heard it previously through the EBS rig. From this, I'd seriously suggest you have a bit of patience and give it a few gigs with the new amp. Maybe it'll all pan out ok and you'll come to love your new Markbass.
This makes sense.
2. I'd say it's probably the speakers, I tried quite a few amps with MarkBass cabs recently (it was just what they had handy at the store) and narrowed my choice down to MarkBass and Aguilar, then when I went to try those amps with other cabs, whoa, MB cabs are not very good at all! Very middy I found, like 'telephonic', and a bit wooly too, you may not notice on its own but once you compare to EBS or Vanderkley like I did, the difference is very obvious, no contest! The twitters are also very loud, fizy and noisy! The 210's are not TOO bad, but the 112's are just awful by comparison with the other brands. For that reason, I'd consider a MarkBass head, but never a combo! As for heads, then I tried a Reidmar, AB'd it with the Little Mark III and the Aguilar TH500 and it blew the others out of the water, both in tone and volume. I've now ordered a Reidmar with two ClassicLine 112's, bought the cabs purely based on the awesome reviews they're getting when matched to this head, didn't get a chance to try them so fingers crossed! If I don't like them I'll just get a Vanderkley or EBS Neo (either 112 or 210) for the price of these two and then have to save some more to by the second cab but if I like them, it's an unbeatable deal!
3.
Connect the Reidmar to the first cab, then the first cab to the 2nd. The cabs are wired in parallel, resulting in a 4 ohm load.
Thanks, was just coming here to post that upon some reading I'd come to the same conclusion but you beat me to it Will still be in parallel even when daisy chained.
4. I've just ordered a Reidmar with 2 ClassicLine 112's... I have a question regarding impedance... The amp only has one speaker out, so I'll have to wire them in series, which I'm guessing will send speaker impedance into 16 ohm? Or is there some kind of system which makes them still be wired in parallel even though the second cab is plugged to the first? Seems weird that they'd market this combination so much if it's not delivering the full 250W at 4 ohm, and is instead delivering whatever it is at 16 ohm? Should the Reidmar even operate at 16 ohm??? They only mention 4 and 8 under the speaker out... Please explain! Thanks.
5. Only the head + rack case left, yours for £250.
6. How come no one got this yet? It's been my main distortion pedal ever since it came out, does from mild overdrive to crazy high gain, has a mix knob, retains low end, 2 channels in a small footprint, ALWAYS cuts in the mix, what's not to like??? Don't understand how I see so few of these in the pedalboard thread, must be some silly bias against T-Rex or something, loads of people are missing out...
7. I've just put some halfwounds on my fretless to protect the fingerboard (as I had stainless steel rounds before which were quite aggressive to it), now as expected I'm struggling a bit with their 'stickiness' when I try to slide, harder to end up where I want due to the strings grabbing my fingertips... I think I have some Fast Fret left so I'll try that but are there any other tricks to solve this (besides just getting used to it of course), like some other product I could rub on the strings to lubricate them or something?
8. Looks like the cab is sold so only the head's left, £250, comes in a badass-looking SKB rack and is PAT tested!
9. Boxed and as new except for small scratches on the top side where the jacks go (can't even get them in a photo)... [s]£135 shipped / £125 collected in London[/s] [s]or will trade it for: EBS Multidrive EBS Octabass with cash adjustment.[/s] SOLD
10. BUMP to add:

head's been PAT tested!
will include a speakon cable for free - you'll be ready to go!
PRICE REDUCED!
11. Ok, tried the Reidmar, AB'd it with my previous favourites (Aguilar TH500 and MarkBass LM III) and thought it was loads better and louder, I should go for this one... unfortunately could only try with a couple of MB cabs (112 first and then 210), they didn't have the ClassicLine 112's I'm interested in, but with those cabs it blew the other 2 heads out of the water!
12.
Actually most brands quote a (granted very fudged) RMS figure. It's just TC that are outright liars.
I don't think Aguilar is very honest about their TH's either, but can't say for sure...
13. Most brands are cheating by rating their small heads with peak wattages, while EBS are honest and rate RMS wattage (the TC Electronic RH450 is only about 250 W RMS in reality, for example). Then there's more or less dodgy techniques different brands use to get more volume from that wattage, like compression, etc)... I will try the Reidmar tomorrow...
14.
I ran a Triad with a Redhead - sounds awesome, the whole range is covered and it sounds as good at the back of a hall as the front. Go for it fella!
Thanks, yeah if it wasn't for needing lighter stuff I'd love to do that myself, been tempted to replace my amp with a Redhead several times back when I needed more volume for louder gigs in bigger stages, lovely little combos!
15. Really like my Tech 21 Red Ripper, has a kind of filter thing on it that reacts beautifully to dynamics.
16.
If i had the triad with my super redhead that would take it to 2 OHM which should be ok?
Yes it would be fine, it would take it to 450 W, as it says in the Super Red Head manual.
17. 'want to make room for the new rig' type bump
18. So now after some more research, I'm really GASing for an EBS Reidmar and a pair of ClassicLine 112's, any thoughts? Should try it with 1x112 this weekend, the price is very, very interesting as with any other brand you pretty much only get 1x112 cab for this price, not 2. An EBS NeoLine I tried a few weeks ago was probably my favourite with Vanderkley a close second, so if it's in anyway close, seems like an awesome package.
19. PM'd regarding Octabass.
20. Maybe update the thread title?
21. What a shame you can't balance the voices...
22. An Octabass style pedal the size of an SFX 'micro' pedal would be perfect for my board... Does anything like this exist (and tracking well on bass)? I'm guessing no but anyhoo...
