  1. Have my weekend tickets too; a little concerned, however, at the lack of named bass artists to date. Does the sale of the early tickets provide some funding for such I wonder. I also wonder if the bass part of the show is going to be a lesser event compared to when a stand alone show. Hmmm.
  2. In my mind episode III - Revenge of the Sixth (string) was the best followed by episode V - The U-Bass Strikes back with episode II - Attack of the (Rickenbacker) Clones a close third. Don’t bother with episode I - The Phantom (power) Menace. (Sorry, very bored on a train)
  3. Not so much large as full of damp and vegetation.
  4. I would tell you, however, my K&M mike stand is still to arrive. There were apparently two attempted deliveries on Friday (we did not want to leave the parcel unattended - let me see, the two times you tried to deliver had 1) my wife, the cleaners, the gardener and wife's personal trainer in and around the house and 2) my wife, the dishwasher repairman and the farmer than rents my land in the house - I can see why you were afraid to leave it unattended.). The courier company is not even listed on the Amazon links and so I cannot chase for redelivery or even collection. Sorry rant over, but i need the stand for Sunday and needed to vent.
  5. I have a Makita. Very good for metal. And wood and plastic
  6. Hokum, Habit and Headwear is coincidentally the name of my tailor’s lawyers. No tics, traditions or habits here unless you count wearing tops with no buttons, zips or seams on the front and only worn when I play bass.
  7. He walked passed me at the LBGS a couple of years ago. I am 6ft and he was just a little taller than me, however, when I looked down he was wearing a pair of Demonia style platform boots that give you about 3.5” of extra height. Public evidence shows he is a good man, just not that tall.
  8. You are correct about the BBC license but unless I was wrongly advised, also by a lawyer, you do not need a license of any kind to hold a private party on private land with live music where the attendees are non paying friends.
  9. I had a party in the style of a rock concert a couple of years ago. 300 people, three bands, street food stalls, bar, shoulder massages, fortune teller, trick bikes, photographer and camping. All on my private land. As someone said, if there is no charge for entry ( I also covered the food and drink costs), there is no issue re licensing. I did, however, have public liability insurance and a medic and a security guard in attendance. As the party was for the locals and 99% attended, there was no noise issue. We finished the music at midnight. It was actually a great event in terms of showing how good country folk can be in working together. The local Boy Scouts looked after the parking, another landowner with gated access to the local road gave up a field for parking, a local cricket club lent the marquee, straw bales for seating came from a local farmer, the (luxury) portaloos were rented at a discount from a local portaloo business owner, the gazebos lent by a local crèche business. Beer / wine / spirits and soft drinks came via the local pub, who also ran the free bar (free to the guests) and a hog roast. Food came from sourced street food vendors, the groove, rock and blues bands were all pro bands and the stage and lighting came from a local festival stage and lighting business. It was not a financially cheap event for my wife and I, but it was easy to get people to chip in and help. All invited guests were given wristbands with the party name on it and no food or drink was given out without a showing of the band. The security guard cleared off some local yoof who tried to raid the bar early in the Sunday morning and the medic sorted some twisted ankles. The photographer put together a great coffee table book of the event. I seemed to have ranted on but the memories of the event keep coming back with a smile. I hope your party goes as well.
  10. That is probably a fair description, however, I know Roland Rock uses his for reggae, so lashings of delicious thick bass too. Sadly mine too will be up for sale too sometime soon as I need to clear the decks for a move abroad.
  11. Welcome. are the guitars in pics two and three really small in your hand or are your hands enormous?
  12. Well I am very happy with mine and a thread on here suggests many others are too but each to their own.
  13. https://www.smoothhound-innovations.com/ You can close the thread now!
  14. Bump for price reduction and now in line with eBay pricing without the stand and bag. A good bargain here
  15. Having just looked into the R-07, the remote control bluetooth thing does look really useful. Especially for adjusting the levels etc without having to leave the playing area
  16. I always think of "covers" as being the player's version of the song and not the "original" (if there is such a thing) public known version. Lesson or instructional videos, IMHO, should very closely reflect the public known version. If I am looking to learn a song from You tube, I would pretty much avoid a "cover" version unless it is very close to (to my ears) the "original" (again, whatever that means). I do agree with Mykesbass' post above though. PS Having watched a little more of the video, it is awful!
  17. I would be interested to hear (poor pun) on how you get on with it. I have the Zoom H4n Pro and am very happy. I do not find it complicated at all but also did not see the Roland when I bought the Zoom.
