  1. I have bought and sold a couple of decent basses, two amps and a combo via a FB Bass page. No issues at all. I will only do cash but am prepared to drive some distance for both buy and sell side. I like meeting people and enjoy a drive everysoften.
  2. I have the DR-3 and whilst it is cheap looking it works well for me when noodling at home instead of a metronome. It is programmable but I have never got to grips with that aspect. Usefully too (for me), you can leave the power pack plugged in as it seems to only switch on when you switch the machine on. I can therefore use a socket that is not easy for every day access.
  3. Agreed too. I am not judging the situation or any of the comments here, merely pointing out we do not know the state of the seller's mind or if this was a fair purchase.
  4. Whilst I agree completely with the principal above: to me it depends on the seller’s state of mind at the time of the sale. Did he know the market potential value of the bass or did the dementia mean he had no idea what it or even he was? I have not reread the advert again today, but memory tells me it does not say he even paid for the bass but merely obtained it from Mr Stevens.
  5. I have certainly never plecked my nose nor used an icepleck for mountain climbing.
  6. I think it was an Ibanez SRX300. Definitately an SRX and in white but with a black pickguard. I cannot find any pictures of one on the internet, however. The only photo I have of mine is small and very badly distorted in the corner of a photo of a room. I loathed it and could never get a tone out of it I was happy with. It actually played a material part in me very quickly giving up bass playing. I got back into it a few years ago with an MIA Fender P which I love and still have, but that Ibanez did me no favours. I have no idea what happened to it. Possibly given away along with the small combo amp to the house movers in 2010.
  7. The seller needs to get with the programme if he ever wants to sell that. For example, what sort of conditioner is it in?
  8. 4 here and have been for a little while: One each of Fender P and Jazz 4 stringers. I never play the Jazz, but it is a Jazz and one must always own a Jazz and a P together. Dingwall Combustion 5, rarely played but good to have and my daily Roscoe Century Signature V,
  9. I trust my Roscoe Century Signature bass in a Gator like that above. It has fallen over, fallen off seats and been dropped from a low height and still not a mark on the bass. Very happy with the case (and the bass!)
  10. Sibob, I finally got it to all work last night. I am happy to say, it was through no fault of the Novation kit or software but a fault of an incompotant operator of Logic Pro X (i.e me!). Thanks for the support and now is all good (or at least it will once I learn to play keys)
  11. Will do. I do believe it is me doing something wrong, I just cannot work out what. The unit is brand new but when went to the registration and set up process as described on the card, the only offered software was a free Gand Piano plug in. I had to manually search for Automap etc.
  12. Sibob, many thanks for this. I have actually just received an Impulse 49 but cannot for the life of me get it to work with my iMac on High Sierra with Logic Pro X. It is not clear at all which version of Automap to use and when I did pick one, there was no instruction to say I needed to download a driver too. I will call support but must confess so far it has been very frustrating so far. All I have been able to do is update the firmware on the Impulse.
  13. I use a Scarlett 2i4 (gen 2) into Logic Pro X and am thinking of learning to play basic keys for some home fun. I quite fancy a midi Novation Impulse 49 as a starter and perhaps in the future do some more complicated stuff. The reviews I see seem to suggest that this is a great controller for Ableton Live. Does anyone know if it is as good with Logic Pro X (I am at a very basic stage of home recording)? Will it need some sort of programming to map Logic? Finally, does learning keys have a positive impact on extending musical ability with bass (I am sure i have read that somewhere).
  14. Funnily enough, my Dingwall Combustion came out of its case, after three months, and was perfectly in tune and sounding really great, even after an hour in a hot car. I refused to take the Roscoe yesterday for precisely the reasons above.
  15. I think you are getting confused with crime and multi-storey car parks.
  16. I suggest following her on instagram may be the way forward, allegedly 😉
  17. I too have seen pictures in the past and believe it was in Chile, although internet searches do not provide evidence. Further, based on past performance of JK it would not suprise me. Approx 8 years ago, he used to be a semi active member of the Porsche Club UK. One late afternoon he posted on the club forum, the night of a gig in Edinburgh, asking if anyone knew of a musician who could step in that night. I rememember the post and thread, but cannot remember what the instrument was.
  18. She played at least one gig for JK but believe now she rarely plays but has become quite the pole dancer. Seriously.
  19. There is at least one person living in France but I say un oef is enough
  20. I was asked to play the triangle in his band. All I had to do was stand at the back and ting! Love the Ella Too Darn Hot.
  21. Can’t beat this up loud in your Jeep or your Benzo’s
  22. I am a lefty who plays righty but often wonder if I should be the other way as I only just about cope the current way. I don’t play upright but when I have picked one up I have always put it into a left hand positition and cannot play righty on it. With four years behind me and (only) four bass guitars I am too old to try left now.
  23. Just followed and look forward to to the content.
