  1. Due to an impending (now postponed) studio date for reamping a couple of tunes with octave sounds, I recently amassed a few pedals on top of the OC-10 I already had. I bought an Aguilar Octamiser, a Redwitch Factotum, a 3 Leaf Octavb're and a TC Sub n Up.... all to experiment with. When the job is done, It's highly likely that the one I keep will be the Valeton (either in it's standard form or on the Dapper Bass Strip which shares the same octaver). All of them have their own thing going on, they're all good in their own way, but there's just something about the Valeton.
  2. I've not had chance to update yet, but mine (LT) has always had the small E next to the patch name.
  3. Due to a shortage of guitarists that are as good as they think they are, I'm having to do all the guitar on our current (obviously suspended) recording. I have a lovely 7 string Ibanez that I discovered I don't really need, which will be getting sold when this is all over, but for 90% of the tracks so far I've use my beautiful (in my eyes) 1979 Westbury Standard. For the softest stuff I've used the studio's Aerodyne Strat, which is really nice, and definitely something I'd like to look at down the line.
  4. Thanks! It's good to be here... Hopefully I'll learn something!🤣
  5. Long time voter, first time entrant... I guess lockdown does have it's advantages. Based on the pic provided I've gone for a theme of rediscovering the beauty of the world in a post lockdown, clean air utopia. I'm only used to cobbling demos together for the band, so its been a voyage of discovery... turns out I know sod all about mixing, recording vocals (or singing for that matter), and a whole host of other things... still, I guess now is a good time to start learning!
  6. Some may call it that.... But not anyone who knew what they were talking about! 🤣
  7. I'm post-pub, pre-big shop cupboard exploration adventure. Yes, I get that under any normal circumstances people aren't gonna like instant noddles with chopped chorizo and tinned mackerel in spicy tomato sauce stirred in. Indeed they may baulk and my liberal addition of five-spice, garam masala and chilli oil, and they may be appalled at my choice to serve it on a garlic and coriander naan... but screw it, this is what I've got, this is what I've decided to do, and I'm not getting paid for it, so that's what they're getting.
  8. I've had the Markbass 121h for a few years now. I was playing in a loud rock band at the time, 2 guitars, flute, electric violin.... lots of noise. My plan was to use it in rehearsals than stick a 121h cab under it to use it's full potential when necessary.... erm.... that's still not been necessary. even running at half it's potential it cuts through beautifully and I've still had it nowhere near full volume. I might still add the cab somewhere down the line for appearances sake, but that's all it will be, I'm in a slightly more subtle band now anyway, but still with a loud drummer. The horn gives it great clarity too. I've not regretted replacing my Trace stuff for a moment, and all in a simple one handed carry.
  9. Not an immediate issue, given lockdown and all that, but does anyone have a recommendation for a screen protector for the LT, ideally UK based? Everything happens via that screen, and I can be a cumsy clunt at times.
  10. It's pretty much all you can do, and it's enough really.
  11. As above, it's just a phishing email. Delete and block. It's worth checking out 'Have I been Pwned'. Totally legit site, set up by a well respected guy in our industry. There you can check email addresses and passwords you've used previously to see which ones are out there and make sure you've retired them.
  12. Too many knobs.... ....will tell you that you don't need that many knobs. Don't listen to 'em! 🤣
  13. Congratulations! *Now go and practice!*
  14. Just Googled the Westbury.... Interesting, I didn't know it existed. I have a 1979 Westbury Standard 6 string and it's a beautiful instrument. So nice to play and sounds awesome.
  15. Which to be fair is in the ballpark of the Schecter and the LTD.
  16. I guess it depends what you want to play. I'd agree that the Precision is the safest bet as an allrounder, and the Sub is great value if you want the kind of sound it offers too. I know nothing about the Omen, but I tried the LTD 206 and couldn't find anything I liked about it, particularly in terms of sound. I definitely wouldn't say it was worth the price premium over the Squier or the Sub.
  17. Nah... That would look really dodgy without the trousers!
  18. I must have worn both the tapes and the video out. As an impressionable 14 year old who had just saved enough from his paper round for a guitar, this was how a rock show should look!
  19. When I was younger all my bands required pick tones, and bloody heavy ones at that. I can honestly say that string life, breakages, or whatever was no different then to what it has been in the 15 years plus that I've been 99% fingers. Dig in fella!
  20. I was going to suggest that, but looking on the Rockwire site it appears he's ceased trading. 😥
  21. Hard to pin it down... but one of the shots from this era Maiden. I had the Live after Death poster on my wall as a kid.
