It's clean enough, runs out to us into the wee small hours, and 24hrs at weekends, and once you get to know it is completely stress free. Maybe a cab from the station if we're feeling lazy. As a rule gig-wise, if it's in from here (and there are lots of venues) it's public transport, if it's out from here we'll take cars.

By way of an example, We're in Harrow, NW London, My Brother In Law is in Kingston SW London (about 10 miles away), My Brother is in Leicester (about 100 miles away, but up the country. During the daytime I can get to my Brother in the same time as I could get to my Brother in Law. RE Dating... Imagine being able to both get home and not having to keep your hands on the wheel!

They're fantastically comfortable. However, as I found out last week, a black one in combination with a sweaty day and my favourite white Hendrix t-shirt is a poor mix. Comfy yes, colourfast no!

How about no inlays? It's something I've settled on over the years and I can't imagine anything but a clean fretboard now.

I was at the Tom Petty gig the following day and the bass was spot on for everyone I saw across all stages IMO. The sound overall was great except for an annoying nasal whining sound during Stevie Nicks' set.

And a beautiful day! (Except for the one year the real ale tent ran dry!) Lovely for the kids too. This is always in the calendar.

Thanks again Steve, I'll refer back to your points as we get into it. Your right, it's fun already, and I'm incredibly excited at the idea of developing it further. Although we're talking about pretty low levels of ability here, the sounds we make are already interesting to me. I'll check out your stuff, been meaning to subscribe for ages. I guess it depends what you want to do. For my lessons I just use my tablet and it's built in mic, and my tutor uses his laptop & its mic as far as I can see. I can hear him, he can hear me... job done I do have an interface etc, but it's not been necessary to use it yet.
