  1. Where were you 2 weeks ago? This would've been perfect lol! Time to get the overtime in at work
  2. I tried both when I went to buy a new head and the Aguilar to me had a certain something from the get go that I really liked...its a wolf in Sherpa clothing.
  3. Cheers Lewis, even better that the cab only weighs 37kg! Sounds huge and thunderous :-)
  4. [attachment=212167:12743550_10153381679867864_7162113999723277117_n.jpg] Thanks for everything guys, I've got all my gear sorted and its mega!
  5. Cheers Lozz it ticks most of the boxes, we'll just have to see how it sounds with a tone hammer through it.
  6. I used to be in a band with this guy when I was younger, he's harmless enough. His grammar etc is terrible but a good musician and songwriter. Just typical London indie band poser rock really. His band go under the name dumbjaw
  7. Excuse my terrible grammer, I think I shall be opting for the rm610 evo thanks to Lee being really helpful and patient with my questions plus being 37kg in weight it'll be alot easier to cart around than 2 ashdown ABM 410 cabs which both weigh the same each.
  8. I did ask but they got sold 2 weeks ago
  9. Tbh I love the sound of an 810 but don't like the hassle of it, which bought me to the conclusion of a pair of 410 especially as I can buy a pair of ABM new for £680 all in. Then there's the make, I've always been an ampeg fan with their cabs and have always been on the fence with ashdown on their mag series cabs but I haven't tried the ABM ones. Then toyed with thought of maybe a 610 which is in between and I can get either the 8x8 or markbass for around £500.
  10. And also have just been offered an ampeg 8x8 svt cab. All private sales
  11. Thanks lozz would you think this would be a better route than either 2 svt410he cabs or 2 abm410?
  12. Hi guys, I've got a Aguilar Th500 and have been offered a Markbass 106hf (6x10) bass cab but the bass cab runs at 6 ohm. The couple of questions are: 1.Would I have an issue running this cab with the head? 2.What sort of power would the head produce? 3.What are they like in use? I will be using a Fender Nate Mendel P Bass through for Foo Fighter Songs
  13. Tiny bit off topic but has anyone used/tried the rm610?
  14. It is pretty much however I am intrigued by the svt av 2x12 cabs. I've had 12's before in a Marshall via 412 which I loaved. I just love 10s and 8x10 cabs but that's not an option lol
  15. I know I liked the svt 410he cabs, I've had the 610hlf which I liked and the 410hlf which I found too boomy but only experienced mag cans which I wasn't blown away by.
  16. Hi guys, I've got my new head sorted. Now I'm in a dilemma with cabs, I'm going to be playing in a foo fighters tribute band. Head wise I'll be using an Aguilar th500 which will be out of sight. I tried it through a svt410he cab, however second hand these can go for £300. I saw on gak they are doing abm 410h cabs for £341 each if you buy 2 or more. I planned on getting two anyway. Since then a thought has crossed my mine to possibly either get 2 1x15 cabs instead or possibly a Ashdown rm 6x10. Because of what the foo fighters bassist has used in the past I want to be faithful to it within reason. Any comments or advice? Thanks
  17. Hi Muppet, that would be brilliant!! Where are you based?
  18. Ah fair enough, don't get me wrong it was a lovely playing and sounding thing just wasn't sure about the price tag.
  19. Thanks for the info guy, it's the one on the bass direct site with all the detailed pics.
  20. Hi Chiliwailer, Logo and neck is original, did see a tiny piece of laquer wear on fretboard under E - String (Rosewood board) so not sure if they were laquered in this period? Necks dated, no date on pickup so not sure if original? Pickguard, bridge and tuners are original? Asking price is £2500
  21. Thanks for the help guys, bought a Aguilar Th500 and possibly buy a pair of Svt410he cabs and it sounded great through one.
  22. Just seen and played a 1966 Fender Precision Bass which I liked however its not completely original. Its been refinished which is a great job and re-reliced but the pots, knobs and wiring have been replaced. It does however have the original ashtray covers and hardcase. How much should one pay for these and what else should I look out for? Thanks
  23. Thanks for the suggestions guys, Bass direct was great and the guys were excellent and very helpful. I'm now a proud owner of a Aguilar TH500
