  1. Thanks The Greek, the only Bass I'm after is a Nate Mendel signature. I'm more after a selection. Of Bass heads and cabs I can try out in different combinations
  2. Hi guys, are there any good Bass/bass amplification shops near Stamford that I can go and try gear out at on Saturday? Thanks muchly
  3. Would a orange Bass terror be suitable? Going to try a tone hammer and pf800 this weekend
  4. I've been asked to join a foo fighters tribute band after passing the audition. Currently I don't have a rig...easy I hear you say, buy an ashdown as that's what Nate Mendel uses...however I don't find they compliment my playing or sound. So can anyone suggest an alternative head I can try to achieve that foos sound/tone? Cab wise I'm looking at trying ashdown, its just the heads I can't get on with.
  5. Great news so far, I passes the audition and have been asked to join which is awesome! Just waiting on the Job promotion front...
  6. Fingers crossed for you, in regards to the job you want 😊
  7. Currently waiting to hear back from an audition and also a job interview I attended this month. I feel like a kid on Christmas day but before opening the presents filled with apprehension and excitement not knowing. If all goes well this could be a great start to the year. Anyone else in the same circumstances?
  8. Bloody good fun to play though, sometimes the best bass lines are subtle :-)
  9. Hi guys I'm after a new rig, I'm considering either the Bugera BVP5000 (Svt 3) clone or the Markbass lm250 head. I'll be looking to run it through 2 Ashdown 1x15 cabs. Soundwise I'm after a foo fighters esq sound, I would go for an Ashdown head but find they don't work for me very well or compliment my style. Thanks in advance.
  10. The only thing I can offer is a 70s Classic Jazz Bass in sunburst mim.
  11. Ok cool, I'm based in Stamford so Leicester isn't miles away and is very much doable. What do you guys need to know?
  12. For me it'd have to be: Karl Alvarez (The Descendants/All) Scot Shiflet (Face to Face) Matt Riddle (No use for a name) Bruce Foxton (The Jam) Jason Black (Hot Water Music) Dan Andriano (Alkaline Trio)
  13. I'm looking at getting either the nuke (svt 4 clone) or the bvt5500 (svt 3 clone) and wanted to know if anyone had first hand experience of them? Cheers
  14. I've had ashdown before and found them to be quite lacking (something) missing. Other people can make them sound great but I can't quite get what I want from it.
  15. I've been looking for a while and pondering on what to get. I'm thinking along the lines of an svt 3 or a pf which is lighter but then there is the tc electronic bh series. Oh what to do.... I'm currently playing a mim 70s jazz bass and music wise I like rock/punk rock and classic rock if that helps? And for my sins I'm also a pick player too
  16. Sorry I ment to have amended my location, we've since moved and now live near Peterborough.
  17. I shall get some pictures soon, too busy enjoying it
  18. After going over to the darkside for a few years I'm back where I belong. After playing so many basses in the shop and being a die hard p bass fan I've taken a turn and gone for a jazz. It's a 70s mexican Fender classic jazz and boy its one of the best basses I've ever had!!
  19. Recieved this bass 10am this morning, my what a stunning looking beast. The finish on the body and neck are A-Class, no flaws anywhere. Even the neck gloss colour is right, was worried it was going to be that horrid pine color gloss. Plays spot on out of the box with no adjustment needed, unbelievable. Completely satisfied & surprised. Still can't believe its a squier!
