Maybe I'm in the final stages of the great journey from simple bass to complicated bass and back to simple bass. Been on the ride for many years but it currently feels just right.

Good used condition

Hipshot 5 string in black with wide but adjustable spacing. A few marks but a good bridge. An allen screw is missing but I'm currently sourcing a replacement so will obviously include or send on when it arrives.

Very nice

Nice. How much for the sofa?

That is right up my alley

Really really nice!

Thankyou, sounds nice.

Hi ho silver lining. I didn't listen to jeff beck for ages thinking that was representative. I made up for it though.
-
Would love to hear some sound samples.

Excellent. Genius all round. However, it's a crying shame that this album's content is still so relevant today.

Lovely. Keep it, it's a part of you.

You're welcome. Unfortunately I never got the chance to go but I remember when it was taken over by the current owners and thought that yet another piece of London's Rock'n'Roll history has been wiped off the map. However, although the music's gone they have now fully restored it to it's former glory and you can pop in whenever you like apparently... -
Really in depth site about the Old Rainbow in London. Fascinating stuff!

Now gone

Often the sound guy is just not listening. I saw esperanza spalding last year and the bass was inaudible for the first few songs and the bass is obviously a focal point in her act. I've seen it happen lots with second guitar/keyboard part where they suddenly see someone is playing but no sound! Quick! Fader!

It's just supposed to be a bit of fun. We all played this gear back then so of course there are fond memories associated with the times when we started playing but I was trying to make the point of how universally good the cheap gear seems to be at the moment. Got to go, I have to call Daddy to see if he landed that '62 Jazz for me. Shall I add some smileys?

The red button was a bass boost, no compressor on these.

If I remember rightly the red button on these was a 'compressor' which actually acted like an extreme limiter. -
Bought a nice bass from skb558. Very well packed and good communication.

Just got a classic IV pro and I love it. No neck dive but I did do this mod which stopped the bass flipping forward which would have gotten on my nerves. This stops you wrapping the strap around the body which I think looks a bit meh. Othwr may have come to the same conclusion but I thoight I'd share it anyway. The gold is temporary...
Should I accept a gig with a band where the set list seems trite?

I've just succeeded in persuading my bandmates into doing 'carry on my wayward son' by Kansas as a compromise to me doing some 'trite'.
