1. Just wondering, thinking of buying this (see link below) but can anyone give me any info on this cab as the seller isn't the most responsive guy in the world, It doesn't appear to be a powerhouse cabinet so can anyone give me a model number or is r810 it?! Also, would I be right in assuming it is an 8ohm cabinet?! Would I get the full 1200w at 8ohms?! And can anyone advise as to what the "parallel out" is and what I would do with it?! would anyone know how these compare to ampeg 8x10 cabs?! Many thanks in advance guys http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=331509153165
2.
The reason most people use a boost pedal into some kind of dirt pedal is to use the dirt to colour the sound normally, and then kick on the boost to drive it a bit more. If this is the kind of thing your looking for, you can either get a separate boost pedal, or an OD/preamp that has a separate boost switch.
Would you have any suggestions as to where I should look?!
3. Thanks guys, would there be need for a separate boost pedal as well do you think?!
4. Could something like a sansamp vt be my solution?!
5. I wasn't thinking about multi effects, I guess I'm wondering if there is a boost/od pedal, like the colour sound clone I'm using, that also compresses that is dedicated to bass or is that in fact, me being stupid?!
6. Hey all, but of friendly advice needed from people who know what their talking about Firstly, current setup is a precision bass, little mark II head, Warwick 411 pro cab + ashdown mag 210t cab Playing blues and 70's era blues rock mostly Whilst I'm trying to save for ampeggy goodness I'm trying to refine my current sound, recently was given the use of a coloursound boost/of pedal, I'm astounded and really pleased with the difference it makes in terms of boost and a little grit as well as the way it tightens everything up My question is this, is there a pedal specifically for bass that is/works as 1) compressor 2) od (versatility is key here as I don't want it overbearing, just enough to make a difference but also want proper growl just in case.....) 3) power boost Never really looked into effects for bass as have never really needed them so am a complete novice currently Is there a recommended pedal that will do all of the above or am I asking for too much?!
7. Sorry fellas, not had a chance, got practice tomorrow so will be sure to get some then, still awaiting delivery of my pick guard so still haven't matted the body up yet either
8. hey all, I couldnt find any threads relating to VM Precisions and any pimping or mods so here we go...................... I'll kick this off with details of mine with pics to follow VM Precision in white pickups changed to Fender Original '62 reissues pots and wiring upgraded to cloth wiring, pio cap and cts pots with switchcraft jack flat top chrome knobs grover machines gotoh 203 bridge Squier VM Jazz neck which arrived with a replacement decal (need I say more?!) levelled and bevelled the frets myself, installed a new bone nut and sanded the finish on the back down so its smooth all strung up with Rotosound 45-105 Flats currently awaiting on delivery of a new tort pickguard and when that arrives I plan to rub the body down to take off the gloss look and give it a more matt feel / look alot of changes and work to an already great bass but completely worth it!!!
9.
Hi, does this bridge have the grooves in it, for keeping the saddles from moving sideways?
Sadly not but I am quite a heavy handed player and I never had any issue with them sliding anywhere whilst I used it on my bass
10. Would consider trades / swaps of both of these cabs and my little mark II head for a little mark (is it the CMD series?) 2x10 combo
