Hey, I am looking to work out how to power a DOD Meatbox but obviously it is being a pain. Currently I am using batteries but I am upgrading to a power supply this week (maybe flatliner six) and want to make sure it's compatible with my pedals I was going to get one of those GigRig battery emulators then realised it said to use a 10v neg ground power supply on the bottom. The power socket isn't a boss style either. Does anyone power one of these from a power supply unit and if so how? Thanks!

Bought Pete's meatbox and MXR bass envelope filter - he shipped them next day delivery arriving bright an early on a Saturday for weekend tinkering. Smooth as, lovely dealing with you.

What a great thread Love the advice throughout - it's so important to get [u]YOUR[/u] bass, you only have to look at the forum at people who have been playing for years and years to see we all have different tastes, so there's no one right answer to what you should start out on. I think all the tips on how you should pick are really well covered, but also - Don't feel embarrassed in music shops because you're a newbie, and anyone who talks down to you or tries to make you feel a bit silly (we've all met those people) isn't worth paying attention to - most staff and customers in music shops are really excited for people who are just starting their bass playing journeys and will be happy to chat and offer you lots of advice. As a girl, who used to get very intimidated in music shops, I always get really excited when I see teenage girls buying their first bass and I probably bore them to death when I chat to them! I was really lucky because my older brother plays bass - so I started to learn on a lovely 80s P-bass (which he later sold for peanuts and not to me!). I spotted my very first bass of my own at a car boot sale in Weston-Super-Mare. It was a sunburst Rickenfaker, it played beautifully, and it cost me £20. Look in strange places, there's often bargains to be had.

Hey gang, I'm trying to build my gear up after a long time in bass stasis and I'm about 5 years behind the times. I'm looking to build up a gritty pedalboard for electro synthy dirty bass sounds. I'm running a 4003 into a green sovtek big muff with a sansamp programmable BDDI. I'm eagerly awaiting a Markbass Super Synth which I'm clearly going to spend the next week playing with. I've also got a blue box and rat knocking around. What other pedals would you recommend? Some things I'm after: [s]A good sub - i'm keeping an eye out for a meatbox[/s] (I didn't need to retile the kitchen floor anyway) A crunchy helicopter-y delay - any thoughts?
