All the time & effort you went to, getting that thing. If you sell now, you just know you'll be looking for another next year. 🤣 -

Look like a pair of decent basses for the right person. Luckily enough, that isn't me. -

@Silvia Bluejay has picked up (mainly) on the video side of things. For purely audio recordings - which can later be sync'd with whatever video sources you may have, of course - I've had consistently excellent results from the Zoom H-series. The Zoom H1 and Zoom H2 are both essentially field recorders; you place them in the venue where you think they'll get the best sound whilst not being stolen by passing pikeys. I used to routinely ask the bar staff to put my H2 on a shelf behind the bar. Both units are cheap as chips and very robust. The Zoom H4 is a significant step up. You have the same on-board mic capsules (usually in X/Y pattern) as with the H1 & H2 but you also have a pair of combi-jack inputs so that you can take a clean feed from the PA. We put our bands through the PA as much as possible so this appraoch really works for us. Given that the thing least likely to be mic'd up is the drums, I always place the H4 very close to the kit; this means that I get a decent level for most of the band straight through the PA plus I have a separate audio track which is mainly drums. Depending on how your band uses its PA there's often no need for a dedicated 'recording mix' through a pair of Aux channels. I simply take a stereo 1/4" jack feed from the Headphones socket into a pair of mono 1/4" jacks for the H4. Bonus points for having a separate Volume control for the Headphones socket ... -

I'm just disappointed, saddened and disappointed, to find that not one Basschatter is having a New Year down-sizing involving selling a Barefaced Big Twin at a knock-down price, preferably within 50 miles of Harrow. I don't feel as if I'm asking too much ...

The Continuing Story of Problem Bandmates.

The water, baby, deffo the water. I often record rehearsals for my own benefit and I'd not bother to do that if I wasn't going to actually listen to those recordings, maybe learn something from them. If I've gone to the trouble of making a recording, then of course I'm going to offer it to my bandmates, but without insisting that they listen, learn, and inwardly digest. 😟 I'm well aware that not everybody shares that approach, and offering to share rehearsal recordings has been met over the years with the full range from enthusiasm and gratitude via complete apathy to outright suspicion and hostility. -

Hmmmmm. Recording rehearsals can be a classic example of "You can lead a horse to water ...". Don't ask me how I know. -
You could suggest that she try getting some lessons in how to do rock vocals ... makes it clear that she's not (currently) up to scratch whilst still being positive about it.

Post a photo so we know what bass you have in mind.

I play in a busy rock'n'roll 3-piece. Much of the stuff we play only really sounds 'right' on DB but some of it (the Eddie Cochran stuff, for example) works best on a Precision, so that means I get to swop between them every half-dozen songs or so. Given a sensible vehicle and Class D amplification I have no problem taking both instruments to every gig, and it really enhances both the fun I get from playing and the entertainment value of the band.

Don't overthink it. Find a length of leather string (a chunky bootlace will do) and thread it between body and heel overhang. Pass the string through the button-hole at one end of any normal guitar strap and Robert is your proverbial.
