I've been asked about the case for this bass. Well, I say "plastic" but it might well be something far more exotic, like naugahyde. I have no idea what naugahyde is, but I know that Americans talk about it. A bit like rutabega. And coodies. It's not as cool as the leather one I'm selling, but it's still a genuine relic from that era, and one for the collector. It's also probably a bit more useable (as a day-to-day gigbag) if that's what you want. As with the leather one, I'm not too concerned with squeezing a high price out of this. As a past very serious Hofner collector, I'd prefer to see this go to another of the same.

Here's something you don't see every day: Impossible to date accurately, but must be 60s at the latest, more likely 50s. Yes, it really is leather. Yes, the zips still work. Just. And the padded interior is remarkably unstained. I'm not suggesting that you'd necessarily want to keep your £2000 Beatle bass from 1962 in this, but it would rather complete the set. What's it really worth? Dunno. But I'd rather see it go to a good home than concentrate on squeezing a few more quid out of it.
