1. Reverting to Mick's actual question, decorative straplocks have been around for ages. I use some with a sort of 'Sonne In Splendoure' design, I got them years ago in both gold (coloured) and silver (coloured) and they work just fine.
2.
I can also chuck the McMillen 12Step & DSI MoPho in the car if anyone wants a look at those.
Far Canal, that MoPho is pretty 80s-tastic ... an MTV 12" mix in a box.
3. Who needs to focus when it's only £1250?
4. I'm guessing that he's in Bedford, Bedfordshire, but that's just a guess.
5. Bought Geoff's Genz Benz Shuttle in possibly the fastest deal of 2017. Great attitude, clear comms, superb packaging, unbelievably quick. Just about as good as it gets.
6. Whilst I don't necessarily agree with the sentiment, I love the way you expressed it.
7.
Where coupling is concerned that happens when the cab is less than 1/4 wavelength from a boundary, be it floor or wall. 1 meter is 1/4 wavelength at 85Hz, so you won't lose low end coupling with even a tall stand.
As ever Bill, you supply exactly what we needed to know.
8. My concern would be how on earth he plans to set up his new 5-string ...
9.
Summer of '69 is apparently not about the year 1969
11. If they haven't found someone after six months, there may be a reason ...
12.
Don't be afraid by the beast;-)
Three knobs, five flick switches, and a chickenhead ... what's to be scared of?
13. Way back in the dim and distant past (the 70s) I can easily remember rape cases being dismissed in pub chat because the victim had the nerve to go out wearing a mini-skirt ... clearly "she was asking for it". That was the phrase that was used. I can remember young guys my aged getting beaten up in Shepherds Bush for wearing a Chelsea scarf ... "serves them right, what did they expect?". That was the phrase that was used. I can remember the Black & White Minstrels on TV, and the TV show The Comedians being laden with nig-nog jokes, and talking about going down to the Paki shop ... "we didn't mean anything by it". That was the phrase that was used. Getting older has few advantages, but one of them is that we seem to live in a better place than we were in then. Stupid people have always existed and always will exist, but I suppose we can live in hope that they will die off. Not all of them are men, but men do rather seem to be the source of most of this stomach-turning aggression.

16. "Fret dressing" always conjures up images of Nigella Lawson worrying over which frock to wear ...
17.
My names is actually gjones.
But how on earth do you pronounce that?
18.
I am skint.
Money talks, and I'm Speechless.
19.
I'm familiar with that problem! But not many Saves who lived in Finland. I've been using the name FinnDave from sometime in the late 90s onwards. I moved there in '96, so it was obviously after that!
So it IS a pseudonym ... your real name is FinnSave.

21. But eventually, the same thing will happen with Imgur of course. I moved to Photobucket because of similar issues with whatever Godforsaken product I was using before that. In other news, I wish, I really really wish that I had an excuse to buy that REDDI ...
22. Depends how serious you are. If you really want an old-school sound which sounds great at rehearsal volumes, can handle small gigs, and is more-or-less transportable then get yourself an early 70s WEM Dominator 25 - the one with the 15" Celestion. Superb open-backed sound, 15W of valve power, looks cool as f***. They turn up quite frequently on eBay. Don't pay more than £400.
23. My name is Jack. And I am happy. Next question, please?
