1. Have you considered laying that down over, say, a disco beat?
2.
And what's wrong with "excited faces", I hear you ask.
Mind you, what a band name that would be ... The Excited Faeces. Unless children were involved, in which case it would presumably be The Small Faeces.
3.
No. They had material that was written specifically for them.
Good thing you don't go in for sweeping generalisations, in't it? So ... tell me about Hound Dog.
4.
Yep - which is great when instruments with just tuning play together - eg string quartet, horn section, choir. But when they have to play with other instruments - piano, woodwind etc everyone needs to be in tune, so stuff like piano dictates that its equal temprament. In theory a guitar could be constructed and tuned to just tuning - but its fretboard would be correct in only a handful of keys and an open tuning would need to be used. As soon as the limitation of those few keys is removed, the requirement means the frets need to be equally spaced to avoid bad clashes on certain notes.
So has anyone tried to pass the output from a set of bagpipes through Autotune? And did it sound like Cher?
5. I reserve my fear for Diplodocus. I stopped worrying about Brontosaurus when they accidentally changed the name to Apatosaurus. None of these were much of a risk unless you stood in front of them and got crushed. In more modern times, of course, the real threat has been the bite of the Luissuarez.

7. Hmmmmmm. Sounds like the scammer would need to strike pretty lucky with precise amounts and dates for this to actually work. I reckon that's another attempt by the Daily Mail or the Daily Express to wind up their gullible readers. Does the scam involve immigrants or house prices?
8. Well make up your mind ... is it bagpipes or bagpies? And can you play them while eating a donner (sic) kebab?
9. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-australia-36842731 And what's wrong with "excited faces", I hear you ask.
10.
Not the norm, but it's not hard to 'reimagine' a tune using different instrumentation and applying a slightly different style. .
http://youtu.be/f5Cyd7jJ-bA http://youtu.be/TxEQfvxponI
11. I was once in a band called Brentford Nylons. We did loose covers.
12. Rick (tash & perm) got into the habit of always wearing that shirt at gigs, no reason that I ever knew. Then Si (MacDaddy of this parish) decided to buy a nearly matching one. You'd have to ask him why he did that. I'm in no position to criticise. I always used to wear my Insecurity shirt for the load in before changing into a fresh shirt for the gig. About five years ago I gave up changing, so I always wear the same shirt at gigs too. Rock & roll!
13. Ye cannae change the laws o' physics, Cap'n.
14. Relic'd, more like.
15. Until this morning I had lived in blissful ignorance that such a silly, pointless word even existed.
16.
The Aguilar Tone Hammer has to be worth a try.
Yup. I've had the Eden WTX260 and WTX500, the GK MB500, The Orange Terror Bass OTB500, and the Aguilar TH350. They were all good, and all very capable of handling any pub-type gig while delivering the "mostly 60s - 90s music" that Schnozz asks for. Of the five of them, though, the one that's stuck is the TH350. I take it to every gig, even when I'm playing through my Matamp GT100, because it's not only light, versatile and bullet-proof, but it's also small enough to fit in the front pocket of my gig bag as a spare. Not saying "it's the best", like that would mean something. Just that it ticks my boxes very neatly. And I've never even come close to running out of headroom.
17. The only weddings I've ever played were my sister's, and Paul the Drums' brother. That's two weddings, not one. They weren't marrying each other or anything. Bottom of a hole ... stop digging.
18. Strewth! That's quite a beast. I wonder if they make one with a Torsal Twist ...

20. Are you keeping an eye out for a proper neck to replace that pointy one?
21. Are you going to read the results in reverse order?
22. Very nice, but does it have the classic Hofner thump?
23. I was in my beat-up £5000 Vito van in a traffic jam, and I was alongside a gorgeous £100,000 Ferrari. We were going at exactly the same speed. It was a traffic jam. Was he getting twenty times better performance than me? Dunno. But I bet he was getting twenty times as many appreciative looks.
