1. That's the Guild Ashbory's big brother, isn't it?
2. We have different walk on music for every gig we play. It all depends on what the landlord is playing when we shout "could you turn the house music down now, please!".

5.
It's not a bass, so apologies for posting such indecencies, but wow, what a finish!
Quite apart from the extreme split in opinion this finish has attracted (me, I'm with the "never in a million years" brigade), I would also struggle with explaining to punters at gigs that it was called Cytherea Black Splatters. I always thought that was a nasty STD ...
6.
you can copy my ideas then
No worries ... just waiting for a decent one to appear.
7. As long as I can copy the best ideas from better musicians than me, I'm happy.
8. Nope. It's a 4 string baritone bass that will fit in a hard shell suitcase, or a biker's backpack. Colour me interested.
9. This is cheap, sturdy, and surprisingly light. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/String-Bass-Lightweight-Case-/182299944006?hash=item2a71ec6446:g:yWsAAOSwaB5XwbtC The wheels at the back mean that you can walk down the pavement towing it behind you without effort.
10.
The answer is either Handbox, Maruszczyk or TKS.
The Dummy Barefaced is already at the prototype stage.
11. If you're hoping that anyone will send €1500 to you, then being a complete stranger is not a good start. You'd best start by saying a bit more about who you are and where you are. All I know about you is your User Name and the fact that you prefer € to £. With the way the £ is going, you don't even need to be European to think like that ...
12. Thanks Neil. Does 660mm - 700mm count as 3/4?
13. So I now want to take a punt on bowing, I've been given links to suitable bows to try, and (knock me down with a feather) the bloody things come in different sizes! I play a 3/4 DB, and I'm a pretty medium sort of guy. Do I need a 3/4 bow or a full size jobbie?
14. Following the very helpful chat about bows and bowing, which touched on the astonishing values placed on some bows, I read today that Jacqueline du Pre's bow will be auctioned next week. It carries an estimate of £20,000 - £30,000.
15. Not sure 'style' is an appropriate way to describe my playing.

17. TIs a big bugger, an' no mistake.
18. Is there a Liz Hurley signature model too?
19. Surely, and in the true spirit of Brexit, we now need someone who can discuss British bowing ...
20. I dreamed last week that I was playing Don't You Want Me Baby on a double bass, and I played the bridge using a bow. Should I be concerned? I'd be happier if this was an attempt at humour, but actually this is true.
21. Hmmmm ... I like it about as much as I like Meshell's playing style. Not much. She's an awesome musician, and I'm sure this is an awesome bass, but it does nothing for me at all.
22. Still hoping that someone will turn up with an ally DB ...
23. I was discovering nostalgia ...
