1. He needs the fee to fund his legal action against his former bandmates ...
 2. OK, so it's been done before, but have you considered:

Song #1
Song #2
Song #3
Song #4
???
 3. March 2014. This is an old thread recently resurrected.
 4. Bwahahahaha!!! What a load of tosh. Take a really great bass, add some dreadful photographs, double the original asking price, then mention that you bought the bass as an investment. Well there's no law against it, I suppose, but I'll be astonished if he gets any interest at all.
 5.
As well as those mentioned above, I really get on with the Marlow Dk stuff.
This ... absolutely this. I love Scott Devine's stuff, but Marlowe DK (http://playbassnow.com/) is the guy who really floats my bass-playing boat.
 6. Not sure it will help with the slapping, but also try learning to spell "bass".
 7. The best bass lines to start with (regardless of genre) are for songs you already know. Browse online for compilation jazz albums and pick out songs you could sing right now, learn them first. Suggestions? Nina Simone - My Baby Just Cares For Me Dusty Springfield - The Look Of Love Etc.
 8. If you swung it hard enough while holding the neck, and then let go, I suppose it would travel a fair distance.
 9. I'm liking the idea of the Countryman 6-string acoustic novelty planter.
 10.
I don't know about that. Here are some of my song titles Man hippo Put it in the tossbank Beastiality Bacon butty Do the Fish Steve Christie is a media man and so is Linda lesbian Bombers on benefits Degeneration of the penis Fish special
One of those has already been done ... 11. Alternatively, you could adapt my suggestion for a band-name generator from a few months back, and just use Basschat topic titles as song titles:

Why did you start?
I must be getting old
Scooped tone
Credit where credit is due
Shivers down your spine
You'll never perform
etc.
 12. I think it's a bit unfair not to give recognition to your PF500; a more considerate amp would be hard to imagine ... not only did it break down at a rehearsal rather than at a gig, but it also did so on a Saturday morning and gave you the whole afternoon to organise a replacement. Ampeg deserve to be legendary for their customer support.
 13. All you need to do is to take your original song title or band name and convert it into business guff. To get you started, here's the Financial Times (no, really, have a look): https://ig.ft.com/sites/guffipedia/ So if you want to start a band called The Cars, and you can see that there might be some issues, you could instead call yourselves The Sustainable Mobility Solutions (Toyota, 2010). For song titles you could just go for obscurity and make them mean what you want to mean: Move The Planet A Little Closer To The Future (Cisco Systems, 2012) Robustify Learnability (US Federal Reserve, 2006) Go-Forward Scenario (AOL, 2014) But it's worth bearing in mind that a newly-written song can also be viewed as a Multi-Dimensional Communication Scaffold (Circus Street, 2014).

 15. In all fairness, he has a great user name ...
 16. So what you're saying is, his amp now needs a front brake?
 17. And now, just to bring my last two posts together in a sort of Unified Theory Of General Country: http://www.bassplayer.com/gear/1164/retro-rama-1968-silvertone-1443/26638
 18.
I play guitar, but struggle when playing bass. I'm going to mess around recording a short tune which is in a Johnny Cash vein. The electric guitar will be doing some sort of alternate bass , and I wonder how the bass guitar will gel/clash with that.
Not at all sure what you mean by that. The bass+guitar thing in country music was traditionally the tic-tac system where the (muffled, muddy, badly-recorded) double bass was doubled two octaves higher on a Telecaster. Or something ...
 19.
I belive it was Dave Pomeroy who, when asked about playing country lines, said "Find the simplest line you can possibly play, then play half of that!"
He's a very good guy is Dave - strangely enough we shared a flat in the 70s.
 20. Radial will have at least three products which will do what you need, be bulletproof in construction and use, and applicable in a multitude of situations. I don't have shares in the company ... I just rate them very highly!
 21. If I didn't already own this bass's twin, I'd have sprained my finger hitting the Buy It Now button. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bass-Guitar-Bass-Collection-SB320-Electric-Green-/131677944656?&_trksid=p2056016.l4276 I'm reasonably well informed on these basses and IMHO this is probably the best value bass on eBay today.
 22.
... or in a wardrobe is lot better place.
Nah mate, use a hard case. Far easier to move around.
